so I tried out the Venom bushings and it's stable, but with regarding to turning I think after they get worn in the turning will come back. I also noticed in the picture provided above by the original poster he really tightened the screws heavily. Mine has maybe one thread coming through the top and he shows about 5 threads and the bushing looks like it's bulging out a bit.

  2. Ok so after some testing I have come to this conclusion.

On Street set up the Orange Evolve bushings work best as it gives more movement for carving. On All Terrain set up the Green Evolve bushings work best as they stiffen the board up making it more stable when higher off the ground.

So are all your bushings green?

For all that do not know, Bushings are the same as wheels they are rated on Duro (hardness) lower the number.
Barrel bushings are more supportive and cone bushings start to give as you lean more.

I love to run Nipple bushings on my longboards but yet to get a set (2 sets) on my bamboo GT. They make a nice strong barrel.

hope this helped some people that might be new to skating or just bushings in general.

    Hi,

I have the bamboo gt for two months now and i would like to know the basics of how to setup my board.

Is there a rule of thumb about what you get when tighten the upper trucks, the lower ones, the frond and the rear?

I am trying a new bushing setup as well, needing to swap out the kingpins but these are the things you do to tune a board to the way you like it.

  9. Can someone post a link to the venom bushings that would fit the bamboo GT? I tried searching and there are a bunch of different kinds. I'd like to have a set to stiffen up things but can't figure out which to get. Thanks!

It depends on how you like to ride, I am still finding the sweet spot for mine, I went for the Green ones, nice to carve with, but still stiff enough to reduce wobbles, but it's all personal preff, get some and try them in different ways to get the right feel that suits you :)

I have seen this video alex, thanks anyway.

The thing is, a friend suggested me to tighten the lower trucks more than the upper in front ,in order to get a more snowboard(y) feeling. This, as he says, makes the board to carve but not turn that much.

    What do you think?

You could give that a go to see how that feels on your board. I usually chuck my skate tool in my backpack when I head out and have a play around a long the way if I'm just out for a fun cruise.

When first starting and trying to find the right feel, it's often a good idea to try and find a nice empty car park and do some testing and adjusting there. Nothing wrong with having a play with a few different tightness settings to see what feels right. You can always stop and pull over and give it a tweak further anywhere down the line. It's an iterative process.

I found it on the Aussie site:
    Evolve SuperCarve Bushings

1x standard set of Evolve Bushings for your skateboard. Comes with TWO 16.5mm Barrels & TWO 12mm cones, and TWO pivot cups designed to work perfectly with your Evolve Supercarve Trucks. Choose from three options: Peach (~89a) for the ultimate surfy flowing carve, Orange (~95a) For the hard carving high rebound feel, or Green (~92a) for the low rebound lazy carve feel.

  19. I couldn't find a durometer on the Evolve USA site but the Australian site says they're available in 3 durometers
