I asked Evolve. The factory uses loctite sometimes. As advised, I used a soldering iron to heat the screw, then it came out normally.

    Wish I did that.

Had to drill two of them out and get two new motor mounts.

    All done and working now.

I had to use a Dremel to cut a slot for a screwdriver, because I’d already stripped the Allen socket : )

Evolve didn’t suggest I needed to use Loctite when putting the screws back in, and I’ve not had any noticeable belt loosening in a couple months riding without loctite.

Had the same problem - stripped Allen and then dremel'd a slot - still couldn't budge it though. Didn't consider using an iron. Ended up shearing it off at the motor - so now the motor is held by only 3 of them. Been OK so far.

What are the dimensions for the screws so I can order replacement?

Few people have asked with no response. I ordered new ones from evolve web site. Got 2 packs of gt bamboo screws for my gtx.
used them on my meepo mini too

  9. I've been having the same problem. How come it's so hard to find out what size alien key for the motor mount screws?

I was trying to switch back to street wheels, but after readying all the issues with this, it might be better to just get another board for street set up. I wouldn't want to strip the allen heads and end up with a big project. it was supposed to be easy to switch back and forth from all terrain to street wheels.

On GTR series 1, you shouldn’t have to adjust motor mounting to switch belt sizes. The wheel gear will provide the fit for the other belt.

I’ve had excellent response from emailing Info@… and Service@…. Addresses for Evolve, even for board I bought used. I suggest getting advised by them on your situation.

  11. Thanks, I'll try it again. I was looking on youtube and was following their instructions. My board is an GT, not the GTR, its a few years old. Thanks for the advise. Jim
