I’m 58, been skating and longboarding for over 45 years. I can do everything I’ve always been able to do. The only difference is that I don’t bounce as well anymore. Recovery time is longer as it’s hard to pay the bills when I’m busted up!

    Al Fa,
I hear you brother, I’m 52 and crashes are starting to hurt more. My answer is additional crash gear.:)

I'm 65. Skateboarder for 2 years. I get long board, electric ego2, swell tech surfboard (highly recomended!) and evolve gtx (street set). On way to choose all terrain set. 6 or 7 inch?

I was riding on the 7" but moved up to the 200 x 50 getting 26mph top end with the 66 gear set. My personal recommendation would be to go with the 8 much more comfortable and faster.... just my 2 cents. I also have the wowgo2s. Was my entry into the sport. And for the price you can't beet it.

If you are looking for smooth ride on and off road you really can't beat the 7 inch wheels. You are going to really decease your distance with the all-terrain setup but if you are only doing 7 to 10 miles you can't beat the ride. My 7s stick to the road like glue and are super hard to slide on anything other than good dirt. If you haven't replaced your battery in your GTX you are going to notice the decreased range. I can't speak about the 8 inch other to say I don't think they even recommend those in their comparison chart. I haven’t tried the 6s so I can’t comment there. While I have the 7 inch AT setup I now only put it on when doing single track mountain bike trails. I currently have the 97mm wheels on and they roll over most sticks and stones without issue. I did get a roofing nail deep in one and after fighting it out the wheel is still in good shape. With the 7s you can go from dirt to trail, trail to grass and large cracks in the pavement mean nothing. I also ended up taking off my belt guards with the AT setup and never put them back on. They are like magnets for sticks and debris. Glad to see at 65 you are still riding! I am 57 and love all my boards ;-). Ride on!

    Thanks for answers.
I should to say something more about my preferences.
    1. I was a snow border, so curving make me a lot of fan. Street set 97/76a is to hard for really extremely curving (don't know how it'll be with 6 or 7" - should be easier to control the slip)
    2. I'm traveler. I've visited Havana Cuba using the skateboard. It was great idea and experience. Now I'm on the tour around usa. Not every city has the pavement perfect especially in old districts.

I'm rather not interesting in true offroad trails. Maybe in the future :)

I get that. I love to carve as well. If you have the abec greens I believe we have the same wheels. I feel the 7 inch AT tires are really nice for carving. They are glued to anything other than loose surfaces like gravel or dirt so anything other than that there isn’t much slip at all. When I use the ATs I loosen up the trucks for tighter carving but not so loose I have to worry about speed wobbles. If you haven’t ridden the AT setup, when you first put them on you feel the board is so much taller but once you start riding that passes quickly. I’ve ridden cities like Cleveland, Boston, Washington DC and plenty of coastal towns. The worst was Cleveland and I had on the 97s but wished I had the AT wheels on. I will probably go with the 107mm 74a wheel next but my 97s still have a good season of thrashing left in them before I need the change. More than a few people, especially those who come from the snowboarding background, have attached bindings to their boards and most of them use the AT tires. Here’s a link to one if you are interested: OK GUYS HERE YOU GO, THE LOOK OF BINDINGS I’m not a binding kind of guy but hey to each there own. Enjoy your riding tour of the US. If you end up in places like Nevada, Utah or Arizona you will want those ATs ;-)
