Custom deck grip tapes...

Just saw the new Starwars, and it got me thinking on customisation...with a little photoshop. Would like to see some other custom graphics

Cool designs I created this one in Photoshop, I took a photo I took of a sunset and manipulated it, but when I went to get the grip tape done the image sample lacked any vibrant color so I didn't order it. Still looking for a company that can do it right.

 

Yeah the best method ive seen is a printed vinyl sticker as it has strong colour contrast and pop...And then having a painted/ sprayed clear grip applied.. Although Carlosdelponte printed grip tape seems like a simple method, would like to see some real world photographs completed decks.

Ok here is the template, its only designed for this photo dont try and use it as a one to one template for printing, its just designed to cut out a design and add to this image to be used as a visual reference as to what your board might potentially look like... its a photoshop psd file it has layers and clipping paths.... to get the grip/sand paper effect I just added some noise & added some shading... enjoy

I have the Gen 2 but yeah that looks totally cool and I would have ordered the tape had it looked like that but the preview picture they showed me looked like this, which looked dull to me. But thanks for the look on the GT it looks awesome and what I had in mind.

 

That is the the latest carbon gt, just an odd photo angle... its not mine... ill put some of my imagery up soon.. yeah from what ive seen the pre printed grip tapes are a little flat in colour... but ive seen a few vinyl prints full colour full punch look great on standard skateboards... basically a car wrap.. with a 2 pack marine clear adhesive applied with micro clear beads/plastic sand.. awesome finish...unfortunately costs a couple hundred clams to get there on a complete custom

Print quality is pretty good, but now i understand why so many cuts are needed to mold to the carbon surface.

Next design will be minimalistic... to show off more carbon fibre on the deck

 

Been bored waiting for the crazy weather here in NY to cooperate. Put these grip tape ideas together in the meanwhile. Can't decide which one to go with. I ordered but i'm leaning towards black & white. Thoughts?

I know the color wont reproduce well, which is why I went neons.
