Was wondering if anyone had this issue before?

This why you should first plug in the charging port then the charger itself. If it still sparks (without moving the connector) after fully connected you better turn it of :D

I never had mine spark, both the 4 amp quick and 2 amp slow chargers when connecting live to my Carbon GT when I owned it. My 2 Metroboards both with 2 & 4 amps don't spark either. I'd contact Evolve and mention this. Issue most likely is that the capacitors in the charger are filling up faster than it should and immediately supplying the high current or possibly they're putting in an underrated capacitor into the charger when they built it.

Yea I was thinking the power supply was the issue since it never happened to me til now. It sparked when fully inserted as well. :scream:

My Gen 2 does this, apparently it's pretty common.

I usually plug in the charger first now, just in case. But it still does it sometimes.

I talked to evolve support and they said they never had my issue before. I just bought another charger and they sent me a female charger port for free out of warranty. Going to plug in port first from now on since the sparks melted the insulation off the charger barrel plug and won't fit anymore.

Lol I should! But now the board sparks no more. It was definitely the charger. The new one is doing its job, but just in case I'm taking precautions and plugging the board first before powering the charger.
