    Hi all, new here :)

I hope this is the right place to ask this question...

I am contemplating buying a bamboo gt street as my first board. I have a very long morning commute - 23 km on bike lanes, but an hour on the train including 20 minutes of walking (the train is not very optimized for my needs). I am hoping to completely replace the train ride which is quite annoying by riding the board all the way.

My questions to you guys are:
    1. is it possible in terms of range? Or is 23 km pushing the limit?
    2. Would it be comfortable to make such a long ride before / after work? Will it be fun or exhausting?
    3. How long would it take me - assuming I would go at an average speed (not crazy fast, just "average" commuting speed)? Is it feasable to cover this distance in about an hour? I know top speed is much higher but I assume you need to ride slow in many situations (especially in the city) so I'm looking for an "average" commuting speed.

    Here is some more information:
    * I'm 75 kg
    * Planning on street wheels for the range
    * Never stepped on a skateboard in my life (did some snowboarding and LOVED it but I only have a couple of weeks of experience)
    * The way has a few moderate hills. According to google my destination is about 150 meters higher than home.
    * About 5 km of the way is in the city (paris) on bike lanes, the rest is on the road. Of course I would prefer smaller roads and not the highway.

    Thanks!

I'm 85 Kg and I've done 25 km riding in ECO in flat with a little bit of battery remaining. Street wheels riding at 25 km/h more or less. I think you can achieve it since you weight less than me. Be gently with the throttle and kick push at starts.

Moderate hills could be a killer. You might go for the Carbon GT for the 50% more range.

    Thanks for the info.
I found a way which is only 20km long - it turns out google shows different bicycle routes depending on the direction, which I assume have to do with avoiding steep climbs.

I suppose I can try to go all the way on the bamboo and if that doesn't work I will ride 4-5 km on the train/bus. Ironically, even if I have to walk the last mile with the board on my back it might still be more pleasant and maybe even faster than taking the train all the way...

The carbon is too pricey for me, especially since it's my first board.

If your are out of battery you can use it like a regular lonbgard. It has a drag but not much.

I've done 21km on the Bamboo with some small inclines and ended up with 30% battery left. Here's the pic to prove it. Board says 40% but it was really about 30%.

That's one thing that I dislike about the board: The horrible battery level indication. It looks to read purely off the voltage it sees in the battery, so if you're really at about 75% battery level (actual juice available) while going up a decent hill, it could show 20% or less. I've seen 8% while going up a hill, then over 70% when stopped as the voltage recovered.

It's perfectly feasible for devices to have hardware/software to track energy used. Compare this value with the capacity of the battery to determine an accurate percentage. Sigh.

I pushed (only) 6 kilometers including two moderate hills out of my Bamboo GT AT last week! The cold is totally killing the range - it was only -1°C. I really can't wait for summer...

to answer question 2 - you will LOVE it! It is the best way to unwind after a hard days work, so de-stressing and even going to work starts to become a pleasure!! I know who would be live that right?! but totally. I really couldn't rec it enough. Legs might hurt to start but will soon build up over time. Question I'd say about a hour crusing. :punch::thumbsup::beers:

For this reason it might be worth hexygen saving a bit longer and going with the Carbon. Paris hasn't got the same heat as California or Australia

I have it setup with the 6" Offroad wheels, I got about 4-5miles in fast mode.
