  6. H Guys, thought I'd post this. Is inspired by Nickelberry's 3d printed guard + battery wear plates.. I got a few local quotes for the 3D printed guard, thought It'd be easier making my own out of aluminium. (apologies if there's a forum topic already for this)

  7. (Turns out the 20mm x 1.5mm thick aluminium strips + velcro) at the local hardware means you can make your own remote guard, battery plates & engine bumpers :)

Board in excess of $1,500.... $4 strip of aluminium ... (thanks evolve)

  9. Remote guard, 2 x Gen2 engine bumpers, 2 x battery guards, freshly undercoated in the spray booth*

*spray booth = old curtain + outdoor table!

Will do the remote guard in a stove-pot black (matches the remote), guards in a gloss black. Either way, will all be chipped & scratched shortly :) Will post a photo of them when finished. I'll put together a how-to on the remote guard as it was pretty easy to make. 17203682_10155134361634365_1484483513_n (1).jpg

  10. Alrighty, painted :) Unfortunately it looks like the first coat of the black shrunk a bit, so made a few cracks. Isn't a biggie. These two shots show the front & back fit. It's very tight! 3 Dots of Velcro but not sure if they're required. Really locks it in. 17203910_10155135083919365_1877075185_n.jpg 17160954_10155135083879365_912234083_n.jpg

  12. Yeh started with the 'bottom'... Use square pliers to get as square as I could and my technical super special bending jig for the 'rounded' sections.. (tube of silicone/liquid nails) to bend the aluminium around.

Managed to make one for a friend's GT remote in about 5 minutes :)

I probably just need to solder in a deadman's button, and life will be good again.
