IMG_8720.JPG Lots of newbies to Evolve Skateboards and even veterans ask how best to adjust the double kingpin trucks to help with speed wobble.

Attached pic is a good starting point :punch::punch::thumbsup::beers:

Hey Andy, if you click the 'Full Image' button before submitting your post it will expand to fill it and the users won't have to click on the attachment. Pic below of what I mean.

Additionally you can copy and paste images into the editor too. Really handy for screenshots as well as precomposed images.

    Ahh!

Right, so there's 2 ways of adding images or video to normal threads.

Direct upload (or embedding) from the editor when making a new post, or embedding media already uploaded from the gallery.

    Pictures
There's essentially 4 ways of of putting an image into a post.

    1. Embed and hotlink an image hosted elsewhere on the web. Useful if you want to embed an image from an image hosting website, like imgur. Good if you don't want the image on our server.

For example, I have a link to an image hosted on imgur - http://i.imgur.com/N59JcyW.jpg

I want to embed it into the post so I can click on the Embed Image button in the editor toolbar and it will allow me to paste the link and embed it that way.

    2. I can upload images directly to the server using the 'Upload a File' button at the bottom of the editor

    upload_2016-9-21_7-45-28.png

Once uploaded, you can pick how they'll be displayed in your post.

    upload_2016-9-21_7-46-32.png

So you can have them as thumbnails, or full images which will expand to fill the page width.

If you don't pic one, it will show as an 'Attached Image' (or file, as uploads don't have to be images, they can be anything on an approved list). This is what you did in the very first post of this thread.

    3. Copy and paste. As it says, copy and paste or even dragging files from your a folder on your computer to the editor will upload them.

    4. The fourth way is to embed images or videos that have already been uploaded to the dedicated gallery. This is a bonus feature of the gallery so it's easy to share the same media in lots of threads without uploading it multiple times.

With this you can either embed single images or entire albumbs.

That's what you were looking at in your last post.

    Gallery Buttons

    upload_2016-9-21_7-50-27.png

The left button opens the album tray and lets you find an album to insert.
The right button opens the image tray and lets you find a single picture to insert.

    Video
With video there's essentially 3 ways of adding them to a post, all forms of embedding the video (for now)

    1. Just paste the text link into the editor and when you hit reply it will be parsed and as long as the video site is on our media list, it will automatically convert it into a nice player.

    2. Click the Media upload_2016-9-21_7-53-5.png button in the toolbar to paste the link, and it will embed so you can see what it looks like before you actually submit the post. But this essentially does the same thing and most people just paste the link and it works.

    3. Use the Gallery Buttons in the toolbar again and pick a video that's already been embedded to the gallery.

I could probably put together a few little How-To screen casts as it's probably easier to explain in person/via video.

    :)

What do you mean by: "hand tight with tool" does it mean I need to tight it with the Evolve tool with all my force until it doesn't tight anymore?

Tight as in you can't tighten it anymore without exssesive force.

so tighten both nuts for both bushings as tight as you can by hand and that will reduce wobble at high speeds? AT what speed do you start to get wobbles and on what tires? I replaced my bushings closest to the board with harder ones in hopes that would help.

I followed Andy's advise and I'm runing 35km/hr without wobbles, I feel a lot more confident, a little bit of carving has been reduced but almost nothing

I hand tightened all 4 nuts, so I will be testing this over the weekend.

Remember it's the one near the deck too loosen off if you want a bit more carve.;) I also like to run the back a bit looser than the front but that's down to personal preference.

"Hand Tight" is relative and can be quite different for each person. How about using a torque wrench for a scientific procedure?

hi guys tightening up the trucks is a quick fix for your safety you should learn to deal with speed wobbles through riding technique there are lots of videos on how to over come speed wobbles and what actually causes them.

totally agree. I'm on stock everything and read up before getting my CGT, so as soon as it arrived I tightened the trucks. Didn't like how it rode so loosened and loosened and now the trucks are how they should be - loose - and I've never had speed wobbles. This is a carving board, learn to ride it as intended. Having said all that I've been a skater all my life so perhaps it's easier for me. The trick is to ride it like a snowboard - always turning, on "edge". ALWAYS with slightly bent knees.

Any videos that you can recommend? I tried the "always turning, on "edge" technique. Seems to work so far for me.

Maggis Welt has some great ones. I haven't seen this whole one but check it out from the very beginning he's carving and hardly ever goes straight.
