What happened to the price??

I was looking to back one of these boards on kickstarter but opted for the BGT because i was able to get it now rather than later. However, in the back of my head i just figured I would end up getting the 4wd option when it came out and i would just give my BGT to my fiance. On kickstarter they said retail would be $1999, which is expensive but manageable. However i just went to carvons site and they're selling the board for $2999??? An extra 100 or 2 would be understandable but an extra $1000???? (1300 more than the kick starter) anyone have any idea why they jacked the price up so much? I can't figure it out for the life of me.
