Troubles with new Bamboo board

42 yo ex-sk8r decides to fulfill a childhood fantasy, so I purchase a bamboo GT AT on a whim (after a few too many drinks).

Board arrives and I seriously LOVE it. Ride it on my daily commute in/out of SF. Had one bad fall about 2 weeks in where I'm doing 15MPH and I check my back pocket for my wallet but accidentally touch the brake on my r2 to my butt, go flying. Luckily I've fallen off skateboards many times before, survival mode kicks in and I prevent any broken bones by rolling it out. End up with sore spots and a skinned knee, but otherwise fine.

Then after 2 months on the board one of the engines seizes (luckily, while going relatively slow and I just run it out). Send it back to Evolve and they replace the engine and send it back to me a few weeks ago. Then yesterday one of the engines starts squealing at me intermittently. I stop and get off the board to see what's up, and the engine isn't working at all - turns out the squeal is from the wheels turning while it's not working. I test it out a bit slowly and it starts working again just fine. I ride it all the way home with no incident. Then this morning I'm rolling through an intersection in downtown SF and power just stops responding - no speed, no brakes. I roll to a stop and check it out: it's still connected to the remote, but the engines don't respond to anything. I turn everything off and reconnect it all, it connects fine, but still no power to the engines. Also, now the remote won't move out of the slow mode to any other mode. I go analog and push myself to work, and then try to reset the remote to see if that's the problem, but it has no effect.

This board that I loved has quickly become a 4 month old pain that I don't feel I can trust at all, and really don't feel safe on. I was lucky when the engine seized that I was going slow - it could have been much worse. And footing the shipping bill back to them every time something breaks hurts the wallet even more. Kind of wishing I had gone with a boosted :(

Curious for other's input / thoughts / experiences - and what to do next. Dishing out the cash for a new boosted is going to be pretty hard now that I'm sunk into evolve. But I don't want to stop riding!

I don't know what they're going to do yet. They did reach out to me with a shipping label to send it back to them so I don't have to pay the $$ to ship it, which is a great start. We'll see what they say once they have it!

I had a similar problem with the signal dropout. It appeared to be caused by having m!y mobile phone too close to the controller. Moved the phone to the other pocket and no dropout since. Hope that helps.

Damn, thats bad. Sounds like my story. I had the same issues, first stuck in safe mode, than new motherboard, 2nd r2 remote, 2 new motors, now again stuck in slow mode, wtf. Sent my board in for the last check. Last chance for evolve, otherwise im going for a raptor.
