    Hi all,

I recently bought a 2nd hand Bamboo GTX with R2 remote... i’ve just found out aboutthe battery diagnostics and now I think I may have been ripped off.

After a overnight charge from dead most cell voltages are around 4.16v but C5 is at 3.7v. See diagnostics screen images attached.

    Is my battery dead?
Can I replace just the faulty cell?
Anyone know the specs of the cell and if they are easily available?

    Thanks in advance.

    PD

I'm not a battery expert, but your remote is showing C5 cell has a problem.. Either Evolve will ask you to return for service, or you could take the opportunity to upgrade your battery (and void your evolve warranty - but I don't think it applies to you any more.)

Otherwise you will only be able to run in ECO mode... I'd rather walk ;)

Thanks, appreciate the response, I actually had the following response from Evolve support:

“The battery is not dead and yes we can replace a single cell. However, it may simply need a rebalance rather than a cell replacement. Either way the battery will need to come into our service centre for repair.”

So i’m Probably going to go down that route, they also indicated $120AUD replace a cell inc. labor if it is required.

Lucky thing for me, I live in Brisbane so the Evolve HQ is only an hour away.

If that gets me back up to 15-20k range on AT wheels i’ll be happy, and it gives me time to think about battery upgrade.

Really simple to charge that cell individually yourself. There are plenty of tutorials on YouTube. You don't have to completly disassemble the pack just remove the heat shrink.

Thanks, i’ve been thinking of doing that actually, figured I could do it through the balance plug. I have not actually found any tutorial specific to evolve batteries, got a link you could post?
