OK so I was going to post this in the other thread about the R2 but the title doesn't relay the content I am posting. So I am starting a new thread. I don't have a problem with the R2 I like it and here is my 2 cents.

Overall I like the new remote. I find it better for sidewalk use in the city (although I am mostly in the streets) and I am so much more comfortable going from a crouched position to a standing position with this remote. For the R1, I had to cut off a finger on my glove so I could really control the throttle which meant my finger got pretty cold at times. I have switched back to full fingered gloves with this one in the winter. I disabled the dead man switch and on big hills the dropping down to ECO if there isn’t enough in the battery or it sags can be a little annoying but the vibration warning helps to know when to back off. I will probably still use the R1 for some reasons like super-fast accelerations but the R2 seems to be the remote that will be my primary go to. I took the R1 with me for the first few rides just to play it safe but I never needed it. All and all very happy with the remote, the longer arch of the accelerator is what I like best.

    Enjoy!

I like the new R2 remote . Sits comfortably in the hand . I did not have a problem with my first remote at all .I carry it along just in case I get a pairing issue with the R2 as I hear a lot of complaints about it . I turned off the deadman switch too . We have no hills here in Florida so my charge on my board lasts pretty long !!

sk8ter I agree. It does fit better in my hand and is more comfortable. The R1 was a little small and the trigger guard I use for it helps but the feel of the R2 is better. I followed BlatherMouth’s recommendation of, POWER ON: Turn board on, wait 10 seconds, then turn on R2 remote. POWER OFF: Turn board off FIRST, wait for remote to buzz indicating connection loss, then turn off remote. I didn’t read the instruction ;-) so I struggled getting it to sync the first time but all good since then. I also think getting through the menu is pretty simple so I am happy with that too. As I recall you were going to Key West, hope you had a great time skating the Key. I put my AT wheels on last night so we will see how the new remote does on the hilly single track paths in my area tonight. Take Care.
