Three weeks and my GTX is broken! Evolve won’t help.

  1. So as the title implies I bought a GTX 2-1 back right before thanksgiving! I loved it! On week two I noticed a rattle in my remote... I contacted them and boom, they replaced it. No problem.

    On week four or yesterday I went to charge my board up for a later ride and noticed the green light was still on the brick? After messing with it for hours I couldn’t get it to charge on either charger I have.

    So naturally it being new I started to get upset. I mean this was a $2,000USD SKATEBOARD! After all when you see what you get, it’s not much. It’s just a skateboard... no lights, no app.. etc. which is fine.

    So I called Evolve California today, left a message, and sent several emails. Finally I called and got a Brandon on the phone. He told me I had to talk to Rudy, and told me to leave a message. Which I did. I can’t believe this guy never called me back. The issue is they want me to pay to ship my skateboard to them for diagnostics and repair. Which is total crap. I mean at this price point where’s the service and standing behind their products?

    I shipped it because I have no other choice. But honestly I feel like they should have replaced it st their expense. Not mine.

    If I had it to do over I would have never bought from evolve. Blink, Boosted etc have way more features.

    these are great boards but issues will prevail.........I had issues and over a period of time evolve sorted them all out

    I agree... but really what are you buying for these crazy prices? Service. There is nothing special about the board itself. The parts are all nothing special. To make me pay to ship it back, it not great service.

    They charge Apple Prices and give anything but Apple service.

    Then the new remote comes out. Pisses me off I just bought the best one they had and weeks later a new remote co

    This doesn't surprise me at all. They won't call me back or e-mail me back for money that they owe me on my refund for a board I sent back. Very disappointing. I'll never do business with Evolve or recommend their products to anyone.

    Well I’m eating a little bit of crow... evolve did fix my board in a day. Faulty charging plug I think. They gave me $100 store credit to repay me for my shipping, and agreed to send me the R2 remote for free. My board should have had it.

    They mostly made it right... but I’m still frustrated they made me pay to ship it back.

    i think they did whats right in the end, you could argue they compensated double your shipping cost with the voucher and remote.
    only boards shipped after the official unveiling of the new remote come with one, i bought my gtx just 3weeks before the launch and had to buy one. i got the discount but full price is over 100 bucks.
    customer return shipping is not uncommon also, at least untill the fault can be diagnosed and determined to be faulty workmanship or materials.
    yes its stressful you spent a lot of money but from what you described i don't think they did you wrong.

    Is the remote hooked? Have you tried turning them both on and holding the pairing button?

    It does that if connection is lost. Also V1 or V2 protocol might be switched wrong?
