    Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone has thought about using solid rubber tyres on the AT hubs - I came off a few weeks ago due to a slow puncture on the rear wheel - wasn't paying attention enough to notice the odd movement of the board and I turned a corner and the tyre collapsed and off I came damaging my ribs and hip (luckly nothing too bad - just meant I havent been able to ride my board for a while) and was thinking that using solid rubber instead of pneumatic tyres would get around this - looked for some and found some on here solid tire New Pattern 200*50 (8 inch*2) solid Tire for 180W/300W Kids Scooter Using (Scooter Wheel Spare Parts)-in Tyres from Automobiles & Motorcycles on Aliexpress.com | Alibaba Group and was wondering if anyone has tried or thought of trying them?

I not sure whether the range might actually improve too as the rolling resistance would presumably be lower too?

That could be great for urban city streets. It's quite easy to get punctures on the road in London. Did you order some?

Nah, was waiting for someone to tell me it was a stupid idea! Might look into it a bit more and check they will fit the hubs and I think they might be too skinny

Yeah, the range aspect is particularly interesting. Will probably make for a much bumpier ride, but could be worth it to get the puncture resistance, plus range while at the same time still being able to deal with big bumps due to the size of the wheels.

Same; I was thinking they would be similar to what riding on normal skateboard wheels would be like but able to go over tactile and ruts in London. Mainly I just don't feel stable on the road from Blackfriars to st Paul's on skateboard wheels so was thinking it would help??

Yeah, could do. @Andy used to have a lot of puncture in London before he put tyre liners inside the wheels. But with these solid ones I'm guessing it would be like running tubed tyres at a ludicrous pressure rating, shifting the range up closer to that of the street wheels. Maybe?

Yeah I have put tyre liners in mine bit haven't ridden it yet...i hear mixed reviews though about the liners causing punctures etc...i ran my tyres at high pressure anyway and the range did get better...

anyone want to measure the AT wheel size - i.e. internal diameter, internal width?

From what I've gathered, solid rubber tires are softer than the 50psi or so in an air filled tire. Range goes down. On the other hand, Trampa keeps teasing some 125mm urethane, uh, tires I guess. . . Looks like they're still pre-prototype, but, there's some convo about it here:
