This is probably a stupid question !! I have the GTX with the original 97MM and have a new set of the 107MM Abec 11 . I read that the larger the wheel the less distance you will get .I also read that the 90MM abec are the best ,But what about the 80MM Orangatangs ?? I am just curious if someone could explain the wheel thing to me .I dont want to kill my distance but i also want a smooth ride .Thanks !!

personally i find the abec 107 using 38t is quite a nice compromise between comfort and range.

Unfortunately Evolve is out of the 38T .Do i need to use them with my 107MM or can i use the standard that came with the board ??

you can use the 32t drives, will have higher top end with reduced acceleration and braking effect.
just take care if you pull the 97mm off and leave the drives on the axle that ya combination of washers in the stack allows the nut to seat into the nylon lock.

Sk8ter – I have a pair of abec 76mm I use on a standard board that I put on my GT and it was an awesome ride. They were fast and I was so low to the ground I felt like I was on a formula 1 skateboard. Our neighborhood streets had been recently repaved so the ride was just great. The down side is the smaller the wheel the more you are going to beat the motor against lips in the sidewalks, driveways and other road sections. I hit the motor just getting out of my driveway. I use the abec 97s and love them. Maybe once I wear them out I will get the 107s but I have found the 97s can handle most terrain I use them on whether city streets, bike paths, older sidewalks even dirt and grass if it isn’t too loose. As for distance to me it is more about how you use the trigger then the diameter of the wheel. I am sure you can prove this one way or the other with math but when I am riding I could care less about that and more about does it work for me. Enjoy and ride ON!

i can't comment on the orange wheels since iv never used them, i can say im not the biggest fan of the 97mm stone grounds i find they are ok on nice surfaces but become very harsh quite quickly as the surface becomes rougher.
i actually have the 97mm on at the moment cause I've taken a big chunk out from one of my 107mm, so im back on the 97 till i get a new set of 107 to put on then I'll keep the three remaining good ones as spares.
it's going to depend a lot on style and conditions you most ride that will decide what becomes ya favorite wheel and drive combo.

Are the Stone ground wheels the black ones with the whitewalls ?? I bought a set of the Green 97MM flywheels and i have a set of the 107MM . We have super smooth roads here,Fresh tar or concrete bike trail that extend for over 20 miles

yea the 97mm with white walls are the new standard gt wheels. there is a mix of nice surfaces and bad surfaces where i ride and the difference between the two wheels is quite substantial.
the 107 abecs are not for sliding though and you also need to watch ya line and speed encountering any sharp edges cause ya can chip them as i have done, thats not put me off them it's just shown me some of the limitations I'll buy another set and I'll have three spare in case i make any other silly mistakes.

I think you will be super happy with both sets of wheels. I believe both are made by Abec with durometer rating of 75a and 74a respectively. They should both be smooth running wheels. You will feel the sidewalk sections less on the 107s but IMHO Abec makes some of the best wheels out there. I also have the Evolve 83mm which are 76a and they ride rougher and are a little jumpy when you side, while at least on the surfaces I ride. I had to carve out the motor guard a little with a drummel for better clearance when I went to the 97s but other than that all good. Enjoy those nice wheels ;-)

I use 97 stoneground and I got 21 miles on fast mode once with about 22% battery life (before resting/stopping the board) and I weigh 240 pounds heehee.
I’ve had 17 mile rides on average and with 20-40% batt left. Depends if I do more climbing than usual.
I’m still trying out it’s limits on mileage.

I switched to the green abec 97 and only difference I noticed is a lil heavier. Or maybe it’s just in my head haha.

Btw, had AT first when I started and I’ve gotten 14 miles on it between ECO and Fast modes. Still getting used to the board.

    I like my 97s

Hey, what do you mean by "take care if you pull the 97mm off and leave the drives on the axle that ya combination of washers in the stack allows the nut to seat into the nylon lock." I'm about to get the 107s and put them on my board with the 32T. So I'm curious as to what you mean by that.

Yes don't forget the washers, There are washers between the drive gear and the truck and inside the drive gear on the axle shaft. The washer on the axle shaft inside the drive gear only goes so far as the axle gets larger towards the truck itself .It does not touch the drive gear .Then of course washers on the outer bearing on the wheel .Front gets washers on both sides of the bearing[outer part of bearing]
