Hi and thanks for the add. Novice rider here. Never done anything more than just suburban cruising and find myself being drawn to owning an electric board. Even more, I find myself drawn to the Evolve GT due to the AT capability. I understand it's limitations.

While checking one out today, the salesperson was explaining to me that the new firmware update no longer permits the board to go in reverse. He said they changed it because they found that people didn't like the old way of doing it which was... coming to a stop, and selecting reverse mode on the controller. I get why that would be a pain especially when comparing the remote side by side with the Boosted Board which seemed much more intuitive and user friendly. I really like the Bamboo GT a lot and of course the Carbon Fiber model was sweet. I like the CF one better due to it's greater rigidity.

Anyone know if Evolve is planning on improving or updating their remote controllers to be more user friendly? To me, that seems to be the greatest weakness of the overall setup.

The Carbon one doesn't look like it has a good concave to me and really I would want more flex in my board not less.

Got my Bamboo GTX AT today, no previous e-boarding / longboarding experience and my remote actually still had the reverse mode... guess they forgot to update mine, a bit of a pity since I haven't used the reverse yet :) and I might prefer the safe mode and battery protection kicking in at lower percentages of the latest firmware...
To be honest only have riden it now for 6-7km ( 1st SLOW, quickly went to ECO, and even used FAST a few times) and I honestly can't say that I find the trigger control that hard. + it's nice that you can switch to other modes on the go (e.g. during some uphill).
User friendliness of the remote is therefor OK in my opinion, I just find it a pity that they don't provide software to install the firmware updates yourself.

The most difficult to get used to is the very loose setting of the trucks, I feel a bit wobbly from time to time :D but I blame it mostly on my lack of experience.

    tighten the trucks!
explore all the different personalities of the board in relationship too yours by playing and adjusting the trucks.
    the possibilities are endless.....................

I’d recommend the GTX if you like the flex. I love the way it rides. It is quite a bit of flex though. If you’re close to the heavy end of the weight range I’d go with the carbon. And I agree.. SVH tighten your trucks. I was able to find a perfect balance to eliminate speed wobble and still have a super carvy board. Also fun to play around with the tightness (giggity) front to back. I personally like the back end just a little looser (ok, this is getting bad). Then with the double kingpins you can very top to bottom as well. It’s fun as well to go out and try different settings. You will definitely feel more comfortable and like your board even more when it’s set up to your liking.
