Trigger modification

  1. I've always had an issue with touchy/twitchy nature of the Evolve remotes. I find the acceleration awesome but you hit it to hard and that baby is shooting out from under you, and if you underestimate brakes it will get you sooner than later. In fact my biggest esk8 crash was because I just got off my boosted and hit the brakes like I do on that board (v1) and ended up going off cause the brakes are that touchy at least to me and how I ride. So I looked at modifying the remote a little. I did a few things in search for smoother braking and acceleration.

    1. 107mm abec 11 STD gearing 32t I think.
    2. Wanted to make the travel of the throttle longer in return making it smoother. so I'm testing with this.
IMG_20171025_003157.jpg That's a plastic P-clamp that I cut and zipped tied in. The zip tie has a caveat to it and I say this with extreme caution THE ZIP TIE WILL LIMIT YOUR BRAKES FROM REACHING FULL BRAKING. Now that's out of the way, I look at this not in a negative way but rather positive. Zip tie limits your braking power so basically you can change the zip tie thickness to tune the max brake. I like this cause now I can control that with out worry of hitting the brakes to hard and sending me flying. As for the throttle I feel that it's greatly improved and I find it easier to control and less twitchy. It can still send the board flying if pulled hard enough but the bend and flex in the plastic plus the extra length of travel makes for a smother transition from take off and generally improves the way I like to ride. Please keep in mind I'm still testing this. Only have about 10miles with This mod, so if you care to experiment on your own do be careful. I just wanted to share. Keep on shredding! Stay safe

This does look interesting, I have been looking into trying to modify the controller to make it less twitchy, This looks like a good one.
I have seen a photo of someone putting a bit of foam inside the remote, to increase the resistance.

The controller is by far the worst feature of the evolve skateboards.
