Has anyone ever replace the Thermal pad in their evolve? It's one of the common issues I've seen around with the board shutting down due to overheating going uphill (any heavy load on long duration) or a combination with a 200kv motor.

I've been trying to think of a better way to dissipate the heat quicker. I'm also looking for someone who can make a custom evolve cooling plate with a 10 or 15mm fins built in.

By the looks of this image below, Evolve mixed the thermal paste and thermal pads together which is a no-no.

    Avoid Common Mistakes
When using thermal pads or thermal paste, there are some mistakes that are often made. So, here are some ideas to avoid those:
Never use thermal compounds and thermal pads together. Just because you use both, the effect won’t increase. The reverse is true. Adding thermal grease on top of a thermal pad actually reduces the ability of heat to flow to the heatsink.
Also, never stack several pads on top of each other. Two or three pads on top of each other between the CPU and a heatsink might kill the CPU."

Let me know how this goes. I was thinking of doing the same. Just would think as "vibrations" would go, the thermal pad would be better.

Decided to make a custom heatsink first then will change to a better thermal pad.

I need one of those thermal plates with larger fins.. My controller plate was super hot on 1st. test run ( 90 degrees Fahrenheit in Texas) on my Carbon AT GTR. Park I rode in was way cool. Can't wait to return.
