Evolve Suggestion Power-cycle remote on long button hold

This feature is common in small electronic devices and very necessary. I carry a small screwdriver for the remote… just in case. This feature would be a better solution then unscrewing the remote on the road.

 

If you get the "white screen of death" which has happened to me three times now (screen goes white and is just locked there-can't turn off, charge or do anything) then you have to unplug the battery from circuit board and plug back in. I guess this a hard reset???
I, too, support this recommendation!!!

 

As PacoP described. it's happened to me twice, but I think i "flicked" the remote power on, as if it wasn't long enough to really turn it on. I have not experienced it since i became more deliberate about powerup sequence.

Actually on one of my "reset" events with the "white screen", it did reset everthing-changed my tire size and switched to kilometers. Had to go in an change back. Other two times the reset didn't do that. Everything came back as was before the event???

 

just power cycle (i.e. disconnect/reconnect battery).

memory setting reset would be another feature. Let's not confuse the two. Thanks.

 

Also I noted on test runs this wk. end. New GTR remote says to quick press remote to turn on. Which did not work on my last yr. model GT remote to power up. You need to hold down button on initial start up a little longer to turn on remote. Hope this helps. Thanx for all these great tips. Cheers
