Ordered some ABEC 11 97mm 75a's......however got an email informing me they in fact had run out of stock (surprise surprise......these things are rare !!)

However they offered me the 97mm 81a durameter rated wheels instead......

Anyone know how these perform, obviously they will be harder....but has anyone tried them, or have any suggestions or opinions that might help me decide if this is a good or a bad idea to accept??

    Cheers

81a's will be also a good option but I would make sure if there is no other place where they have the 75a's. I really love them.

I have 97's that are eighty something... I think and they are great... Given the size they feel smoother than smaller wheels anyway and they will last longer too!

81a's will not hold in turns as well as the 75a's if compared side by side. Also you'll have more dampening from vibrations more with the 75a. The 81a will last longer, but I've never worn out a set of wheels honestly. Usually they get cut up and nails / tacks / glass cuts in them before that. Invest in an extra set of Evolve street cogs, file them down to fit the ABEC 97mm clones and you're ahead of the game and will be saving money over time. The ABEC clones are typically 78a and cost around $28 USD furnished fully with ABEC 5 rated bearings and wheel spacers.

I have 90mm 81a and 97mm 75a, apart from the wheel size difference the 97mm is my go to wheel it's a much softer gripper ride on 75a

If you want softness, trampa do 90mm 74a. If you don't really care for durometer just ebay the wheels size you want. I saw some 97mm 81a with a wide range of colours
