Belt tension

I've searched for forum and the evolve FAQ and maybe missed it but is there a guide anywhere on the correct belt tension to use for all terrain wheels vs street wheels? I think maybe I'm doing it too tight as getting poor range and had heard too tight is the problem. So how much play in the belt should there be?

Any advice is appreciated

 

There is an evolve video on YouTube says about 5mm of play. I have mine fairly loose but just tight enough so the belts don't slip when braking or accelerating

 

Monoxide is correct, the perfect tension is as low of tension that is possible that does not skip teeth when braking. The first few times its tricky but you will get the hang of it. It's a bit of guesswork.

 

I can almost squeeze the belts together with both fingers? Too loose or too tight?I dont understand how to gauge 5mm of play...
