Bought a pair of these for our winter country lanes.

can anyone tell me the tread pattern on these is definitely different depending on which way round they are mounted.

does anyone know if it makes any difference, and if so which way should be forward?

obviously I mounted them to the hubs etc before realising the tread pattern was different!

Hey, I just bought a set too, for my carbon GT. I also noticed that the tread is different dependent on which way round you fit them to the rims, so I fitted mine as Two pairs. In doing so I will now be able to mount them on the board so that all Four are facing in the same orientation (in their pairs) I don't really think that they are actually directional, so once they are fitted to the rims in Two pairs I imagine you will be fine to mount them to the board facing either way around, just as long as both pairs face the same way! Hope that makes sense and offers you some help, but if you need it I could take a photo of what I have done to show it more clearly?

Didn't even notice they are directional until now. 3 of 4 are mounted one way. How it came from Evolve. Maybe why I only crash hard on toe side slides:). Living on a gravel rural township road. Nice 2km downhill drop to Lake level and the rural highway or rolling terrain heading inland. Debated about std AT or knobbies. Went with the off road for winter snow pac and dealing with loose to hard pack gravel surface. Curious how they handle snow packed surface? Tires are really loose on loose aggregate, but bite hard on the smoother gravel. 59kg person. Running at 35-40psi. Does cause a problem with my lack of skill. Slide in the loose. Then the bite. Then the dump. Tuck and roll time.

Running 9" x 2.5" tires on the MBS mountain board. Also only running 20-25 psi. World of difference in stability through loose and soft gravel. Would require different wheels. Possible issues might be tire clearance between the motor pull covers and board at extreme carves, drive gear compatibility with the FiveStar wheels that use a 28 x 12mm bearing. I'm not even sure what size axel is on the Bamboo GTR. The MBS 9" are not compatible with the Evolve wheels

In general, larger volume tires can run at lower psi with rolling resistance similar to a lower volume tire at a higher pressure. More apparent on rougher surfaces. Was thinking about the MBS T3s. 8" AT tire. But not sure if the difference if any would be worth the investment. Sort of a smooth center section. Thinking our knobby tires would be better on snow.
