    Hey guys,

I just got my brand new Evolve GTX yesterday and it came out of the box nice and dusty AF! anyways... thats not my issue here.

My problem is that i pair my remote with the Bamboo GTX board and then my board is stuck in safe mode. I try to press the button to change the gears but it just doesn't want to do it. Does anyone know a fix ? or am i just screwed? I have watched the videos from Evolve on Youtube and they didn't fix anything. I am really bummed (upset) i planned my weekend pretty much with this board and to show my family and friends and then it is broken in the first couple of hours... + sometimes when i turn the board on..the power button light doesn't come on and i have to press it a like so many times until it actually comes on. Does anyone else experience that? (keep in mind this board is meant to be brand new)

Have you tried pulling the trigger out slightly so it is completely off?

Yea dude. The trigger is fine. It is all brand new and in good looking shape as well.

I found with mine that the trigger wasn't releasing all the way so it thought that the trigger was still pressed. Pulling it forward freed it to change gears.

I’m almost dreading the day I receive my R2 haha... seems more complicated to pair up than my current remote... I could be wrong, hopefully

Yea:/ i hope you don't have to go through what i am going through. My board has been sitting in my room for the past 3 days and i just look at it and it makes me feel like sh*t because i know i can't ride it :( i have tried to fix/ride it like 5+ times a day. I spoke to the Evolve support team guy today and he asked me to email me all the information about the remote and he still hasn't replied :/ so i guess i got to wait another day to see whats happening.

I have a feeling I’ll be using my current remote more than the R2 if it gives me problems. I’m actually getting used to the remote, so we’ll see. I’ll use it for back up I guess haha

Hey, i am having the same problem. I even had them send me a new remote and it did not work. I have a bamboo gt street and am using the r2 remote. I did the trigger reset and nothing. I reactivated the dead man, nothing. Turned dead man off, nothing. I took the board apart and re-seated all the wires connected to the motor controller and nothing. Either we both have bad motor controllers or the motors both died at the same time (unlikely). I just got the second remote today and it did the same exact thing my remote did. I cant switch out of safe. The remote will vibrate, lose connection than resync and still be in safe. If i go into the menu and back out it'll show im out of slow but about a minute or 2 later im back in safe. I even noticed in the secret menu go to more info double tap the power than button 1 twice and when i squeeze the trigger the the motors dont display any power being drawn to them. Hopefully this issue isn't wide spread or this could be bad.

Yea :/ well they are trying something different with me...They aren't sending me a new remote. They said i need to switch out the 'Motor Controller' within the board. So they told me today they will send me a new 'Motor Controller' and when it arrives they want me to send the broken one back to them. I really hope it fixes it :/ i really want to ride my board... i just got it ):

Yep, i guessed it. I even think i mentioned it at first when i contacted them. Now I'm kinda mad they sent me a remote and not the motor controller. This'll be another week without my board. What's weird is that you haven't even rode it and mine was fine for like 2 weeks and then one day when i tried to turn it on it was like "nah, safe mode is cool" and just stayed there.

No no... I have rode my board it only lasted like 2-3 hours though then i came home then went back outside to show my partner and it didn't work anymore. But yea :/ that sucks that you have to wait even longer...i hope this Motor Controller replacement fixes it.

Imagine if it was the remotes problem and you just got 2 faulty remotes :/ that would suck

When I rode my board the last day i cant think of anything crazy i did besides running the battery down in gt mode till it bopped me to eco and rode it till that was just about dead. Came home put it on the charger along with the remote and when the led on the adapter changed green took it off and it went to bed. Woke up to take it to work and it pulled this nonsense. Also it should fix it, the remote is fine as tested by me haha and the motors on both of ours were fine so that's the last thing. Just be careful when installing/uninstalling that motor controller. Make sure the boards off and you disconnect the main battery first.

Yes! that is exactly what happened to me! i had it in GT mode when i went back inside and the battery was quite low but it still had enough juice. Then just went back outside to show my partner just quickly then it just gave up. but i don't know if that would be what caused the problem... surely not. The boards can be turned off in GT mode right ?

Yeah thanks man, i will be as careful as i can when replacing it. I am pretty localised with installing electrical stuff. I might even record it for my VLOG next week on Youtube :): William Blaize

All i rode the board in since day 1 was gt mode, I turned it off in gt mode all the time. But whats weird is i had some interesting quirks with the board such as if i was riding and wanted to switch to another mode the board would just stop responding and I'd have to turn it off and on again to change modes. Hence why i rode in gt mode since day one lol.

Reading all your stories/comments makes me just want to keep using my current remote. Hmmm... I actually don’t have any problem with my current set up. I only use GT mode on steep climbs. Fast mode is where I live most of the time anyways...

I think the remote is fine, i believe the faults are on the motor controllers end. But we'll see, hoping to hear whether or not his replacement solves the issue.
