    Hiya all

I just bought an Evolve Carbon GT with street set up - loving it to death although I think I hit the battery bottom pretty quickly and it is all back on charge.

Heya welcome to the forum! I havent seen anyone else in Canberra but there probably is lurking here somewhere!

How many km did you get on the battery, and what speed were you in?

I'm a newbie and haven't really done any distance yest - getting my feet and feel settled.

I have run it 4 times around town in either sloth or ECO mode. I gave it a punch in fast mode and quickly realised why everyone says HELMET!!! I'm off to the skate shop at lunch today.

I have seen a Bamboo at my gym plus the attractive girl who rides it :)

Yep as you get your feet and balance sorted it seems to get easier. I kick off and lean forward when accelerating and lean back when braking. Seems to work :)

Yo AJ. I lived in Canberra for 3-4 years. Love that place.

What's it like getting around on the board? Keeping to bike paths, I'm guessing? What areas are you hitting; skating from, to etc.?

I work in the City and regularly skate from near the post office through the city to get lunch.

The lake it fairly awesome but at lunch time but during summer it is hectic avoiding runners/walkers. Im going to head out early on Saturday morning with the action camera/gimbal and drone and see what footage I can get.

The streets around home were good until they got resealed the other day - now its not worthwhile.

I'm going to hit up Lake Tuggeranong and also the Kingston foreshore area next week as well.

So many choices in a city built for bicycles. I may even park at Black Mountain peninsula and commute from there (free parking!!!)

    Look forward to the footage!

I've been to Canberra a few times. Unfortunately it's either been really hot or really cold! The area around the lake does look good, and I guess the layout of Canberra is quite good so would make long boarding fun. Lots of roundabouts comes to mind for some reason..

I work in the City so almost every lunchtime I am around the Canberra Centre looking for lunch.

The lake loop is pretty cool - it gets pretty busy at lunch so I prefer early Saturdays. I'm hanging out to get down to Lake Tuggeranong.

What's you setup? Fave spot in CBR?

I often skate the city for lunch. and have done the lake bridge to bridge a number of times as well.
I also skate the city at night pretty regularly. infact one night I randomly bumped into a group of long boarders cruising down bunda and one was on a GT.
I film quite a lot too.

I should probably point out that I don't ride Evolve I build all my own boards.
but Id love to see how my DIY compares to an evolve.

Throsby is awesome right now. it doesn't look it in the videos but there are some pretty big hills there. and its not really populated yet so hardly anyone goes there.

did you end up getting to tuggeranong? I found that the lake path was pretty rough.

Just stumbled upon this. I am about to move down to Canberra for work. Would be keen to organise a ride if anyone is keen?

A meet for a ride would be cool.

I am working 3-4 days a week in Melbourne at the moment so it is hard for me to do anything outside of a Sunday

I wouldn't ind doing either Mt Stromlo Park or Throsby though if you are keen

Sweet. I am not due down from Central QLD for a couple weeks but I will keep you posted!

Also, anyone had any run-ins with the police? I see the laws are a bit different down there

    Cheers

We rode up to some cops the other night and one of them said "hey they are cool are they electric?" He wanted to have a look but his partner said "we gotta go mate." And they took off.
