I'm really considering ordering these for my CGT, I hear they work well to increase the top speed. Anyone else have experience using them? I'm not too worried about losing a little bit of torque...

I just put 200KVs on my GT Carbon. Top speed for me with AT wheels is ~28 MPH. With these motors, all modes but GT have a very diminished top speed, basically GT is all that is usable. Also the breaking response is a bit diminished. But it is definitely fast!

I just installed 200kv on my carbon gt. I seem to get a noise coming from the motor/gear it's a popping noise every full rotation not really sure what's going on. Took it for a test run the noise goes away going fast but as I slow it comes back. Everything seems ok riding the board only road for 2 miles, I'm not wanting to damage the board or I injure my self. Was wondering if anybody on here might have an idea as to what my issue is?

is the gear solid on the motor shaft? i.e. the set screw is cranked down sufficiently and its not giggling. Also maybe check the belt tension is not too tight or too loose.

Yes belts are tight, as for the balancing gear before I installed the motor I put locktite on the 4mm set screw to keep it in place for good I might only be able to get it off if I use a torch lol. I'm going to upload a quick video

Another thing I've seen before was the motor cover was slightly tilted so when it rotated it kind of rocked a little bit. Each rotation the cover would hit the non-cover part of the motor and click. This was on a motor that took a beating. You can tell by rotating the motor slowly and watch the gap between the cover and the motor and see if it varies. I think the little 4 set screws at the top of the cover adjust the cover alignment.

No covers on them using the 107 wheels, it seems to be more on one side than the other, in going to switch the motors on different sides just to eliminate that and see what that does. But when I take the mounting screws off on the motor and use my hand to rotate the motor is seems semi rough it has that popping noise every full rotation compared to the other 200kv motor and the original 140kv are smooth feeling when you hand rotate them so maybe I have a bad motor? Like I said it rides fine in the time I've gotten to ride it. It's bugging the **** out of me though lol

Same issue here. Seems to ride fine but that damn clicking noise is coming from the gear. Couldnt get it off with a heat gun though. I put super glue loctite instead of medium loctite on the other one which seems fine and tight

Sounds like a bad motor. I have two got them a little over a month ago love them no problems at all. There fast smooth and quiet.

Will the 200kv burn out the esc?

I think its the motor gear or cog thing that is just a little off sized (the red ones from china) the silver ones from evolve are much heavier and slip on firmly.
