I like flex ,plus I’ve always ridden wooden decks . Just my personal pref .Guess I’m old skool . Don’t get me wrong the carbon looks flash ,just not my thing .
Still can’t believe after all my saving to get this board and what with the snow last week holding up delivery, I still can’t use the dam thing .I thought I’d be least likely to have any issues seeings I asked the guys to look over the board before shipping to avoid any Q/C issues .
I should of known it would happen to me .

Yeh well apart from a cheapo I had a couple years ago . All my other boards are regular long boards and one old short board . At 47 I’m just in to my carving now .

Yeh mate ,I have to say I was a tad gutted for sure .The worst thing was that it felt really quite awkward to begin with when I phoned them and told them it was missing .I totally understand they have to be cautious but initially they said it was hard to believe, and I felt like I had to plead my case ,not quite what I had planned for my first 10mins of unboxing .You start doubting yourself and looking in the boxes again but I wasn't there. What I still find strange is ,that they checked my board over at my request before it left and my QC check list note states that the remote was present ??? I'm still wondering if one of the staff removed it whilst looking at my board and forgot to replace it .In anycase I'm glad they agreed to ship one out for me to have tomorrow. It's still annoying and I didn't like how it made me feel ,whilst on the phone .Im a 47 year old ,who works hard ,tows the line etc and thought I'd treat myself to a rather special big boys toy. It's just st a shame I don't live nearer to the guys at Evolve UK as I could of unboxed there to save this hiccup .Anyways as said they have accepted the fact I haven't got my remote and it's on its way so ,alls good I guess ,at least my board will be charged and ready .
I did notice there's no warrenty card but I guess my proof of purchase will be enough should I need anything repaired .
    Cheers

    Dude !
    That sucks ass !
But I guess these things happen, I ordered a set of 107's just in time for my birthday and they arrived with two days to spare..... without drive gears.
But the guys made sure they got out that day and express shipped them and they arrived on my actual birthday haha.
Good choice on going with the lumber - harder to break.
Happy riding once you get the remote !
    ( should be a R2! )

Cheers Mat88 , let’s hope I don’t find or have any other issues . Noticed a couple small chips in the black paint on the front truck right at the front on the pivot housing . Not a biggy but seeing it was checked for me it was still not expected tbh. Bit of touch up paint has hidden it .But my point would be if I was buying the trucks in a shop separatly I would point that out and ask for another pair with no defects .This is the trouble when all you can do is look it over heeps but not ride !

Your trucks will get marked up . I have some gouges on the bottom of the rear ones i guess from hitting rocks ?? Your warranty is on file with Evolve .If you bought directly thru them you do not need to register it .They have done that for you .

    Cheers dude .
Well the remote arrived and I took her out for a spin . OMG ! It’s awsome ,very happy with the feel and power . I’ve not tried GT yet only fast mode . Definatly a different feel to my non powered longboards which I’ve adopted a very lax style on compaired to my short board days . This is different and a lot more focused on weight distribution when taking off and braking . Got caught a couple times doing both so will need to get a few rides in to get used to the brake and launch . Had to tighten my trucks up a little more than I would normally but until I get fully used to the board I’d rather not get wobble . But I feel I would like them slightly looser soon .
Very happy though so far .

Yea , Getting use to the launch or braking only takes a short time . Lean forward for acceleration with weight on front foot and backwards for braking with straight front leg when braking putting all the weight on the rear leg .My trucks are loose for carving .If you feel a bit of wobble put more weight on the front foot /front truck. That helps out as the wobble gets produced from a lite front end and a lot of weight on the back end

wobble is caused when you try to turn the board from the ankles when you have reached a speed above the transition point where you shift to counter balance controll.

same as a bike, low speed you push pull the bars but transition to counterbalance above a certain speed at which point if you try push pull it generates wobbles.

its exactly the same, steer by the ankle at low speed steer from the hip n shoulder at high speed and always keep knees bent to avoid catching a heelside.

wear a nice helmet and enjoy.

Yeh I get ya .ive never really had any issues in all the years sk8ing but these double king pin trucks feel a little different under turn and as I'm now travelling about 20mph it's just taking a little longer to find a sweet spot with my bushings .but a few more rides and I'll have it down .Ive loosened them a tad more as prefer to ride looser trucks and would prefer to get used to it that way than with my trucks tighter if you get me .

Little motor bling as I don't favour gold motors personally

true ay, i got the gtx also and it is my 1st experience with double kingpins.
i went out for a ride with the skate tool and just kept stopping to tweak little by little till i was happy.
set the rear slightly tighter than the front and the upper pin slightly harder than the lower, overall i set the board tighter than out of the box but not so much that it couldn't easily make a 90° turn on the average footpath then i just let it break in and loosen up again i haven't touched it since.

I initially tried it out the box and fount it was a tad loose.I then tightened it up and did an 8mile ride yesterday, but have loosened the trucks a bit more as I think I should get away with it now I'm getting more used to the ride style/feel. But it's going to take a few rides to get it exactly how I like .Trouble is our roads and pavments are so varied in surface condition and type that getting an all round happy medium is a little harder. Didn't have this trouble when riding a short board as I tended to just stick with smooth surface or parks and my normal longboard I usually only ride on smoothish down hill roads so again not much variation in surface chioce .Where as these boards you find your riding over a wide area due to the motors. If you get me .
