In the earliest days of skateboarding, Jeff Tatum’s unique creativity and inability to follow norms gave birth to tricks, styles, and board designs that would forever change how the next 50 years of the sport progressed. Explosive mainstream growth in the skateboarding world over the following decades saw the scene dominated by brand deals and competition. Not wanting anything to come in between his expression through skate, Jeff faded progressively from man to myth within the history of the sport. Regardless of what happens in the future, Jeff’s Tatum’s legacy is one tightly intertwined with how skateboarding came to be.
