Howdy, just got a CGT AT today, one ride out of it, then put it on charger and now remote and board aren't pairing (New remote with shifting ability). I have emailed evolve but it is Friday night so don't expect a response tonight. Has anyone had a troubleshoot for this? I have checked board and remote connections and watched all the videos

If posted in wrong place let me know.

    Cheers

Ok so your switching all on and then holding the left button down for a few seconds to pair?

If you have done the above and its still not working try this:

Hit the left button twice to enter the menu
Go down to more info click the right button
Then press the left button twice and then the right button twice
Check if the remote is set to V1 or V2,
Then press left button twice and then right button twice to change between V1 and V2
    Then try to re-sync

Yip board on. On the board Blue Power light is flashing consistently, I then turn on the remote and press the left button to pair and it shows the antennae symbol. But then it doesn't connect or show battery percentage. I have held the button down for a while. A short while. Turn it off then back on. Tried remote first then board. Does the blue led on the noard normally flash so much?

Try the V2 - V1 switch as advised above and I think you will be ok ;)

Thanks for that info Andy. Having dropout issues with my new CGT (new version remote). Was pulling my hair out trying to follow your instructions - then I experimented and found the answer. Your 2nd set of button presses, the RIGHT and LEFT need to be reversed for the new remote. Corrected way in bold. My board was set up as V2, I switched to V1 and will try and see if that helps.

Hmmm.. just went thru the procedure above. Remote saw board OK after switching to V1. Then Powered both off, re-started both, now remote does not see the board at all. Cool.

Switched it back to V2, restarted and it sees the board after re-syncing. When I changed to V1, it would not recognize the board even after multiple sync attempts.

I find that when I change protocol, the remote at first does control the board normally (did not do extended test yet for drop outs). However, when you power down either the remote only, or both remote and board, upon restart the remote does not see the board at all. I have to switch the remote back to its original protocol setting.

you may have a motor controller or receiver issue, there have been quite a few of these, or even a bad remote, I would make Evolve aware of this and get them to take a look at it.

I bought a new remote for a 'V1' GT Carbon board i bought in July 2016. It initially did not pair. After using the procedure you gusy outline above and an extra step, it worked (you need to also reset the remote).

Hit the left button twice to enter the menu
Go down to more info click the right button
Then press the left button twice and then the right button twice
Then press the RIGH button twice and then the LEFT button twice
Check if the remote is set to V1 or V2,
Then press left button twice and then right button twice to change between V1 and V2
Then press RIGHT button twice and then LEFT button twice to change between V1 and V2
    Then try to re-sync
*Reset Remote and initiate standard pairing procedure (turn board on until flashing light, then initiate pairing by holding left button)*

Thanks Andy and Evolveina for the instructions.

Is this also changing the behavior of the remote to version 1 remote (left button reverse, not auto downshifting to eco) or is it just the way the remote talks to the different versions of the board?

    Unfortunately no.

The new remote even on V1 has downshifting speed on the left button and upshifting speed on the right. It can change modes faster and smoother which is good but if you want to reverse you have to cycle the left button beyond slow. The reverse mode is also locked in ECO. With the older remote all you had to do was to press left button once to activate reverse and you could change speeds using the right button.

I think the button layout design of the older remote is more intuitive but hey i don't really use reverse and don't really use any other speed except GT these days so both versions of the remotes are fine. I've only once drained the battery below 20% so I can see Auto-ECO as a potentially rare hindrance. But if it protects the battery i'm okay with that.

I haven't tested braking or riding with the new remote yet so can't comment on any improved braking/speed.
