    Hello all

After months of head scratching as to which brand/model to buy, the Bamboo Gt looked like the answer. After convincing my other half as to why I needed an electric skateboard (to keep up with our 5 year old son, a very keen and very fast cyclist) we hit the buy button. The board arrived on Monday the 3rd of October, thank you Evolve uk especially Andy, you have been a pleasure to deal with. Since my first ride on the Monday, today has been my first day of no riding....the reason for a day of rest is due to riding beyond my means and applying the brakes a little too hard on a steep downhill....I dont believe I will ever be able to run that fast ever again! My legs feel like somebody strapped me to a tread mill and hit the fast button!
Any way after the first ride I was hooked, the second day I decided to take a drive out to Rutland Water and ended up doing a complete circuit (approximately 18miles) and ran out of battery just as I pulled back into the car park. Since then every afternoon has been spent looking for new cycle routes, parks etc. If you are ever in the Leicestershire area, Rutland Water is superb, lots of sweeping paths and plenty of off road. I swapped to the All Terrain wheels last Friday and since then I have become a lot more adventurous and can't believe how much fun this thing really is. The only problem I have is my riding time has been shortened dramatically (approx 8-10 miles) I presume due to the AT set up and the discovery of GT mode!
Any way, looking forward to the next ride...have an electric weekend.

    Fred.

Great post Fred! Sounds like you're having a blast :grinning:

You're post gave me a cool idea to try and make some kind of route finder for the site where we can submit cool tracks and paths we've discovered to ride and plot them on a global map.

Hmmm....will have to have a think about that!

    Thanks Alex

I can honestly say it has given an old dog a new lease, absolutely love it! already planning a second board as my fiance who is a keen surfer has also seen the light and she also wants to keep up with me and the 5 year old when we are on our adventures!

There are some great places to use them very close to me including Bradgate Park, if you google Rutland Water you will see how long the cycle paths are, it almost feels like it was designed for the job.

Sounds great! There's quite a few users on here with younger kids like yourself. Some of whom have made some pretty incredible and very impressive custom vehicles, incorporating their boards allowing their kids to get involved too!

Jimbo and E-Boarding come to mind.

Check out Jimbo's recent creation below!

Lol! I'm old school snowboard/wakeboarder/skateboarder, all was my life then priorities changed as I hit 40+.
Dying to feel a board under my feet again without having to drive to mountains or jump in lake.
Saw kids tooling around on an electric board while on vacation and had to look into them.
Unfortunately my wife not letting me click the 'buy' button...I have to sell all my bikes I don't ride anymore...and that still won't come close to price of GT.
Can't imagine the feeling of carving down the street or a dirt trail on one of these

It's incredible Kevin, I hadn't ridden a bike in 10 years and when I got an electric skateboard it got me out in the park nearly every day for the start of the summer.

If you do a member search for 'Ca' you'll find quite a few riders in California.

You might be able to find someone nearby to have a go and convince the other half to get one too ;)

Yes, I haven't ridden bike in close to 10 years either, just doesn't give me rush like boarding did....peddling long distances just didn't do it for me.

Falling off an electric skateboard for the first time will get the adrenaline pumping again :see_no_evil:
