Has anyone played around with their board and an Arduino?
Im not sure yet, but my thinking was to the connect my board lights to a light sensor which will turn the lights on when I have the board on and the light outside is low automatically.

Also when I turn my board off the lights turn off. Too many times I have jumped on my bus to stares from others to notice that my rear light is still flashing. Ideally I would also have the skateboard battery charge the lights so I don't have to remove the lights to charge (but I can if i need too).

Totally third world problems, but just thought it could be an interesting hack. I doubt an arduino would even fit inside the battery cover.

It does sound like a fun project.

What could also be cool is if it was able to read the speed of the board, perhaps by measuring the draw on the battery, and have the lighting effects behave accordingly.

At slow speeds or stationary you could have a relatively slow flash, and have the requency increase as you pick up speed.
