    Hey All,

This is a brand new Carbon GT. While riding I've noticed strange lags between the controller and the motor. Can a few other Carbon GT owners take a look at my video and let me know if this is indeed faulty behavior? Or is it normal?

    Thanks!

Did you try to pair the remote again and see if that has any effect?

This is the classic remote problem that many of us are complaining about right now - try the following below starting with the easiest at the top of the list:

    1. as TheWizz said - repair (resync) the remote - this has helped quite a few - not sure if its simply selecting a new channel or doing some other voodoo that helps but quick and easy and worth a shot - some do this before every ride - I would suggest trying it only when you have issues
    2. disable any source of wifi or bluetooth on your body - the remote is based on the nRF24L01 (which is not BT or BLE but uses similar frequencies) also ride in more "rural areas" - I know not practical for most
    3. ride with a fully charged remote and board - this seems to help - my first problem surfaced in the bottom 30% of my main board battery pack - but it does happen at any time for people
    4. contact Evolve Support and get a new remote swapped (I have a new one - still need to test it properly)
    5. contact Evolve Support and get a new motor controller and the riser card (that contains another one of the nRF24L01 transceivers) replaced
    6. send the whole thing back to Evolve and let them deal with it - a few have gone this route - Wiztecy has recently (see long thread in Carbon forum about petition to fix remote) - I think they still have it - Make sure if you send your board back its packaged properly - another Canadian rider got his back after remote / motor service and the front truck / wheels were snapped off the Carbon board - deck scratched up / box wrecked - I think Evolve is offering new parts to replace that (so my first choice would be to just get the new remote related parts and swap them out instead of shipping whole board)
    more info in these threads:
    - Got thrown off the GT, board took off without my command, petition to Evolve to fix remote
    - Evolve - radio is using nRF24L01

Thanks for the video btw it demonstrates the problem perfectly - also if you continue to ride in the mean time (which is not advisable) be really careful - go slow - wear gear - helmet - stay away from traffic etc - until its sorted

Also for those viewing the video above for the first time and new to this issue - it actually can get worse (much worse) than this and get stuck accelerating for 2+ seconds, go full throttle and or ignore braking then apply full brakes - which results in a hard crash - see "Got thrown off the GT" thread above for a good write up on this...

Hey All. I just wanted to report back on this. After reporting my issues to Evolve, they asked me to try re-syncing my remote. This would help, but it would only last for 10-20 minutes before the remote would experience dangerous lags again. After this, they sent me a new remote. The new remote has NEVER had a lag. Not a single one I’ve ridden it daily for a month. If you’re experiencing this issue, definitely request a new remote!

I never had any issues so far with my remote. Occasionally the initial pairing takes a little longer but after that a stable connection and this is also the case after upgrading to v2 software. Did notice the light "kickback" when power drops to eco when battery level goes below the threshold. This kickback is more me anticipating more power and only eco torque is delivered. I will start a poll to check how many of us had an issue just to get a better understanding of the % of people experiencing this.
