Difference in spare parts cost...

Looking at the spare parts sold by Evolve through the various distributors around the world there is a massive variance in cost for the same parts - even taking exchange rate variances into account I can't see why that would be.

Many examples but I think the best one is the GT series drive belt sold on the US site for $30 (£23) but sold on the UK site for £33 ($41.75). As it clearly states it's made in the U.K. why the inflated price? :scream:

I have received nothing but the best customer service from Evolve UK and only have good things to say about the product but the sooner we find where to buy the consumables cheaper than Evolve sells them for the better. o_O

I agree it seems silly that something made in Britain is more expensive, but in general I've given up trying to compare the US price of anything to the same item in the UK.

The iPhone is about £100 more expensive this year than it was last year thanks to Brexit and fluctuations in the pound.

You also need to remember that prices on the US site exclude taxes, whereas the UK price includes taxes.

Add 20% VAT to the us price and you're up $36, narrowing the gap to less than $6 difference.

Add the rip off Britain tax to that and you're just about even :)

I think there is a mistake on the UK website. Belt for GT is £25 avail here: Gates Belt - made in UK

Ref gates man it's a messed up world! So they are a UK company brought by a US company. You can't buy the belts direct from the UK arm. You have to buy them from the US. So the belts are made in UK shipped over to the US and then you have to get them shipped back over to UK again! I kid you not!

Well then that's down to Evolve to sort out...shipping something made in the U.K. to the states to ship back for U.K. buyers is just crap organisation by Evolve. The divergence in price for the two countries £10! is just too great even with fluctuations. With regard to the price on the uk site being a mistake I can't see how Andy... two separate belts listed, one for the older gen boards and one specifically listed for the GT..... with an £8 premium over the old but essentially identical belt.

Evolve don't get their belts that way. I was just saying if you wanted to get off gates yourself.

The link i added there is a dropdown for GT option. I will check with Mark but I think it's a mistake the the other page and also I see that's for 38T gear not the regular street belt.
