    Hello All,

I'd like to see what everyone else is thinking when people ask them why they should get an electric skateboard/eboard. I know this is a tough question because, there are so many obvious answers but, pick one!

Mine? I personally am choosing this method of transportation over my car. A small contribution on saving the earth.

(Potentially) by far the best last mile city commuter device out there. Depending on your board and what other transport you take.

Definitely the most fun general commuter device out there if you've go the streets/paths and weather.

Fantastic relaxing, fun hobby that gets you out of the house, with a minimal learning curve. I had some of the best afternoons I've had in years last summer, cruising around the park to relax. Brilliant.

As a bonus, you'll probably explore and learn more about your local area and community than you ever thought was there or existed before. I've found out so much more about the area of London I'm in just randomly cruising about on my board, areas I'd have never walked to in the past.

Oh yeah, the altruistic saving the earth part is also a big part too :p Anything to reduce those emissions.

Will be so much more pleasant using these on the streets when the majority of cars switch to electric, and using some thing like this instead of a moped where possible in cities.

As the range and reliability increase, I recon eboards are going to explode compared to moped and motorcycle use considering the places you can carry the boards compared to parking scooters with the same flixibility, or even better flexibility if you consider taking it off road and down side paths.

As my good friend David said "Chicks dig scars" :joy::joy:

For me its about being good for the soul, really helps you relax and de-stress. Commuting becomes a pleasure and at every opportunity possible even shopping becomes an excuse to go for a blast :punch::punch::beers::metal:

For me it was a replacement hobby, I had sold my 4x4 and needed something to tinker with. I like e-skate as it has a low barrier to entry and you can get as nerdy as you want with it. Plus the positive metal health effects of being outside.

Its some of the most fun I've ever had (right up there with rallying, motorcycle racing, flying, rc jets, kite boarding etc) - for much less cost than most of these

I needed more fun in my life after a rough year. Although, tbh, for me it was - buy expensive skateboard first, ask questions later :)

I moved to NYC from Colorado and got rid of my car, shortly learned that commuting is much worse when you don't have a small vehicle to make half and or the whole trip on. Decided I wanted something fun to commute with and a friend had suggested a boosted board, I did my own research then found LEIFtech and realized I could be practicing my snowboard skills all year around in the city. I gotta say having a fun board to commute on makes just leaving my house more appealing unless the weather is too shitty to ride. My only regret in the product is that I can't take it to the club and check it like a coat, and I'm definitely not lugging my board around the club with me. Other than that its easy for most settings and mostly just a ton of fun. I've met a bunch of nice people just riding with my local e-skate group.

I am ALL about my bamboo GT but sometimes it would be nice to be able to stick a board inside a back pack. I'm curious to see if Linky boards will pan out. Pretty cool concept if you ask me but it would have to be my secondary board because I'm sure it does not compare in performance.

You should come out to the local NYC E-skate meetup on Saturday, I posted the info in the event section, we'd love to have you out!

  16. Find that perfect bit of road that has a good balance of smooth and pebbly, and you can spend an hour or two practicing slides & cut-backs.. I think evolve call it "the endless wave" :) It's really good to see a mix of people who eSkate, surfers, skaters, gadget people, eTransport people. It's a good mixed bag :)

  18. That is interesting indeed. It seems more like a proof of concept than an actual marketable vehicle. You can tell that even the creators struggle to balance when they have to hang over the side of the board to use the stick. I would be really hesitant to move my center of balance over to one side with my body in between the stick and board. What happens if the stick slides out sideways? I'd bet hitting a slick spot and having it give out would cause you to go down between them, except you wouldn't be able to have your hands or balance to make a proper bail. What makes a last-mile commuter vehicle plausible is it's practicality. I just don't see anyone lugging around that cumbersome stick (even if it can fold) AND a board. You really need to have everything self-contained into a single mode of transport to make it practical or else no one will really use it.
