Top Mounted Battery?

    So I was just thinking on my ride to work today, why don't you see any electric skateboards with top mounted battery packs? maybe it is just the way I ride but I never put my feet in the middle of the board. I think the main advantage of a top mounted battery would be clearance and the fact you could use a lower deck.

    I think part of the reason is that it ''spoils the look''.. one other reason I can mention is that it is in the way for your foot.. if you, let's say want to pushstart your board..

    tripping hazard and crushing (or even pushing on) a lithium battery doesn't seem like a good idea - oh yea the flames would shoot up your pant leg if it ruptured ...

    I think this depends on how the cells are layed out.. if they got these plastic holder things they are ''secured'' quite okay.. plus, you wont leave them naked / open for impact anyways and would have some sort of enclosure anyway..

    would keep some road crap off it and may be better for shedding water than catching it in the cover (bowl)
