Yeah to make it work your BSM would be sitting over top of the battery connector (red), just to reiterate, it can be done, it is very tight but it can fit, Spartan117 has done it.

Wow that just made my day! Now I need someone that can make me a battery connected to the Evolve BMS. I'm way too inexpereinced and don't have the tools to make my own. I'd be willing to pay a pretty penny for someone who can do this.

Actually I removed the connector and holder and soldered it directly together for more space and better contact (no resistance of the connector). And yes its veeeery tight :D
But it works :) And I got rid of that air filling up my board :D

Oh. I don't have a soldering iron. Do you think it would be impossible without soldering? I would hate to put too much stress on cables. Do you think a 12s4p battery would fry the ESC? That would cut it down to 48 cells but I wouldn't want to damage any components as they are very expensive.

Oh wait, that would mean the BMS won't let me charge it to the full capacity and not work right?

Yes, 12s is 8.4 volts more, I think that could be to much. Also you need a custom bms. And I don´t know wich one would be compatible with the controller board. I think you will get a battery error.

Half of the work as I did the pack was welding the other half soldering. At least you have to solder the bms cables to each 5 cell or 4 cell pack

I don't even know lol. I'm looking around for battery makers. I'll see what happens once I find one.

Hey Spartan117, would you mind taking a picture of the inside of your Carbon GT? I'd really appreciate being able to see the battery.

Fist two pictures are just the battery. Second is the mounted pack. I just added strong double faced adhesive tape under the pack and some foam material on top.

Thank you so much! That is very helpful. I hate to make you do all this work, but could you take a closer picture of the BMS? Is it sitting on top of the batteries? Wouldn't that have clearance issues?

Also, do you notice any voltage sag or speed decrease? I get severe voltage sag (very common) and I've also noticed it loses 3-4 mph top speed at anything less than 85%.

You will always have voltage sag with every battery. It just depends on how much resistance the battery, the connections, the motor controller itself has. But... a good build pack with a battery like LG HG2 ore Samsung 30Q are way better than the original. At least in 5p.
Also the speed decrease is managed by the motor controller at a certain voltage, but it will happen a bit later with the new pack.

The bms sits tight to the motor controller and at a 45 degree angle to the last two cells. Trust me it will fit if you make it right. Just don´t waste any millimeter by connecting the cells.

If you want a battery made, have you tried asking barajabali on e-skate builders?

I don't mind the idea of making it myself, and anyway I imagine getting a battery the size I want posted international would be a challenge.

I was considering it, but a 10s5p pack is $520! That's ridiculous considering the total cost of cells $250. Even with more expensive HG2 cells, the cost would be $300. I'm really tight on money so I can't spend that much money - student life.

I´m sorry to tell you now that I deleted my post because my board burnt off completely. I don´t know what went wrong but the custom battery exploded.

Woah, you alright? What's the state of the board?
