That's awesome. I've watched Hunt fight many times. Impressive knock out power on that heavyweight. Cool that he eskates. I emailed evolve about the cutout issue above. They suggested I pair the remote from my bamboo up with the GTC for a test. If that stops the "eco drop cutout" I'm having, they'll replace the remote.

I just had a fall at 26km....the board just slammed on the brakes and launched me off it. my wrist is sore, may be fractured. the board seems to be stuck braking and wont even kick push. it wouldn't turn back on after the incident. when i dragged it back home and tried again, the board made a 'bang' noise, i freaked out and immediately turned it off. Not sure if id have the confidence to try and turn it on again 2moro, or ever again. scary. I'll be on to evolve about support but im pretty sure the board is faulty or completely broken.

This is interesting.... and sucks too since you got hurt. Sorry to hear about that and I do hope you don't have a fracture.

That "bang" noise, was that something you think that came from the electronics / battery? If so, you're correct about playing it safe and not turning it on. When the board locked up, did you have any indication of something happening or becoming odd? For me the response / connection from the remote / board became choppy, surging in a sense, then BAM it locked up / jumped into reverse. So the problem of the board going into reverse really isn't clear if its going into reverse or just locking up the motors into a full brake. Its hard to tell since when you get thrown off your finger comes off the trigger so it goes back into neutral. You're issue might help understand some of this. What mode were you in? When my issue and others who had the same issue who where thrown off, we were in ECO mode.

Get well so you can get out and play again.

One thing I can say from my personal experience to others, if the connection / motors become choppy. Be very careful, stop. Try to re-pair the remote to the board, if that doesn't fix the issue, ride with caution until it clears up. And again keep caution while riding.

Yeah it seems like it was from the circuitry area where the power button is.

No indication unfortunately. If there was choppyness, I would have stopped, I read your story before. It's the safest thing to do. I was in fast mode on a 10% approx incline and it happened. After it happened the remote showed slow mode, odd.

Thanks man, I'm gonna give it a few days and see how my wrist is. Hopefully just a sprain.

sounds like you are having some serious issues, get Evolve to sort this out for you, make them swap it over, or change parts

I've got in touch with support, they're going to send me a new motor controller. I have to pay for it as it was water damage, which is fair enough. They were very quick to get back and shipped it fast. Will have to work on sealing the board up now!!

I too got spontaneously tossed from the board yesterday. I was cruising along in ECO mode ( I dont feel comfortable to mess with fast let alone GT mode) and all of a sudden my board seemed sluggish. I looked at the screen and saw that there was no battery amount showing, blanked out as in not connecting. I should have just gotten off the board right then and there but I was just putt putting along. What I think may have happened was I was pressing the buttons to try and re pair the remote and in doing so I up'd the speed to GT unknowingly and then it reconnected and BOOM! GT mode surface to air missile launcher! I never saw it coming and ate pavement! My perma grin erased, i'm now super haired out to get on again and worried about the pairing/connectivity issue. If you're not constantly staring at the screen, you might miss the sign that its disconnected and BOOM! pain!

So I heard back from Evolve and they said :

Here is the correct syncing procedure that we use here:

    Pairing tips and procedure:

    1) Turn on board FIRST. The blue led will begin flashing from the power button.

    2) Turn on remote by pressing and holding right button until EVOLVE logo appears and initial screen is displayed but not showing battery percentage yet.

    3) As soon as remote is at this point, press and HOLD the left button until the pairing icon flashes. During this process do not touch the trigger or interrupt the remote until you see the battery percentage appear. Once the battery percentage appears, then pairing/syncing is complete!

IMPORTANT Note: Make sure the entire time, you are NOT touching the trigger or the board, so it finds its neutral point.

Even when turning on thereafter before each ride, do not touch anything until pairing is complete and battery percentage pops up on the screen.

Yes, I've received that same set of instructions from Evolve a few times which never addressed any of my issues.

I'm going to be spending my weekend buying safety gear. Found a pretty cool hip belt that can be worn under clothes that's looks pretty rad. I'm just so haired out about future falls but don't want to have to wear a suit of armor to just go for a stroll through the neighborhood.

I've been thrown off twice. The first time I tried shifting into GT from fast while going uphill with the trigger held down, don't do that. The second time I was putting my helmet on and accidentally hit the trigger and it put me flat on my back.

Never change mode with trigger held on! Change mode when stopped and wait. The other reason, well what can I say.

You need to have throttle at 0 when you switch gear and always remember the remote keeps trying the command and they stack so pressing the right button twice while the board is not sending ESC packets with the new modus the controller will keep trying until is succeeds. When you finally receive the ESC status update with the first gear change it will send the next and now the connection is OK.. You just switched up 2 gears..
Always look at the display if the switch worked..

    - is the remote, + is the board.

    -Packet: Set mode 42
    -Packet: Set mode 42
    -Packet: Set mode 42
    -Packet: Set mode 42
    -Packet: Set mode 42
+Packet: ESC0 update <-- this packet contains mode bits
-Packet: Set mode 42 <-- board didn't pick up, keeps trying..
    -Packet: Set mode 42
+Packet: ESC0 update <-- contains the new mode so remote stops sending request
-Packet: Set mode 43 <-- Next gear
    -Packet: Set mode 43
+Packet: ESC1 update <-- Got it! We are now in GT.. :-(
    -Packet: Throttle 500 <-- Auch :)
