    I
I have the same problem with my BGT when in Street setup. I couldn't figure it out so ended up throwing AT wheels on there and it went away. I'm sure it would still be there with street wheels.

Yeah common thing seems to be that its street set ups only. I have now got an AT set up so will try and and see if it goes away. Its a vibration thing for sure as on the Cyclopark smooth tarmac it was silent.

I can confirm that on AT there is no noise. So clearly a problem with vibration coming from the Street set up.

I have this really bad. Also only when using the evolve 83 mm wheels. I'm gonna tryout some zealous bearings to see if this reduces it. Anyone else try this ?

Have been playing around with things to try and improve things so far
    Only on street setup
Noticed that when under power the rattle goes away completely it is only when coasting
Does not happen on smooth ground
Evolve wheels are the worst probably due to width
abec11 83mm wheels are slightly better
abec 11 97mm wheels are better again mine are 75a so are absorbing more shock
tried different bearings, evolves, bones ceramic, and zealous, noise unchanged with all of them
the noise comes from the spinning case, if you wrap electrical tape or sound proofing around it the noise muffles, this will build up heat though.
My thoughts were to turn an aluminium heatsink to fit around the motor, and put some thermal paste between to see if that will deaden the noise without affecting heat, but haven't got round to doing this yet.

Thanks for these details. So, the noise is not coming from the wheels then, but from the motors? If that's the case it sounds like we are SOL. Damnit! Drives me nuts because it's a noise that should be coming from a high quality board.

    Possible cure found....
I have switched out the bearings in the actual motors, they are the same size as skate bearings and on the small test run I did the noise was not present. Will do a longer test run when the weather improves to confirm. My BGT has less than 50 miles on it, so I wouldn't have thought the bearings would be at fault, also doesn't explain why AT is not affected

hmm, interesting observation. if this is the case, then just wrap a zip tie around the metal housing to muffle the noise a bit. wont affect heat and might muffle the sounds if it is the cause.

I'm gonna stick with the AT wheels, since they roll nice & quietly :)

Could you post a thread with how to change out the motor bearing with pics if poss? My beta GT has a noise coming from one motor that sounds exactly like a bad skate bearing. If you could that would be awesome! :punch::punch::thumbsup::beers:

Hi ! I had the same problem - sound and it was the protective plastic for the motor gear . I tighten it and the sound gone !

Must be a different sound, I have been running with my covers off, a bit of grease between plastic cover and mount also helps with noise from the covers

Managed another test run after bearing change. Noise has gone completely. When I took old bearing out they did seem smooth still but there was some play. Hopefully cured

put my 97s on today so i had a chance to re insert all my bearings and start from scratch. Still have this damn rattle! more than anything its just driving me nuts! we gotta figure out what the cause and fix is here. It just sounds like **** for such a nice board.

do you mean the bearing inside of the motor? so you opened up the actual motor?

Yes I opened the motor, I posted a how to guide in the guide section of this forum

Tried adding a washer in with the bearing spacer? The bearing spacer may be rattling if it's not being pressured by the bearings.
Worked for me yesterday, just with one wheel that was constantly rattling
