I have a borad now for a month. First week was going 15mph next thing my borad just cut out I went flying lucky I managed to catch my speed up running so no fall. I thought nothing of it. Untill a month in to have it. It has done it again on me just ridding in a straight line this time at 20mph. High sided me in to the middle of the road. My whole body is so sore with tarmac burns everywhere. Is this a thing that's happen with everyone. For me this really is it acceptable. Unpredictable help anyone

What is your setup? Wheels, specifically.
The boards' brakes are not good enough to stop on a dime at those speeds. they're good, but not that good. It sounds more like you hit something.

If you're still under warranty, reach out directly to Evolve.
Also, you can go through the trigger reset a few times and see if it was a remote issue. Never know.

Yes... What is your board? Used? New?... Stock? Any other problems or weird behavior prior to your accident? Could it be you touched the brakes by accident? Happened to me....

I can understand that - waiting on that right now myself. Turned into a missile last weekend when I hit some roots and did a panic brake. not too much rash, but hyper-extended my knee trying to "run" to stay up...

I’ve had no such issues on my Evolve GTRs, 4 months near daily riding. I’d get in contact with Evolve immediately to sort out! They have been super with my bunch of engineer-minded questions, and seem like they’ve very deep experience. Hope you get better soon.

I dont know if you know this. But depending on the mode it seems like that will determine on how touchy(Sensitive) the brakes are. I also agree to try a trigger reset.

Gtr bamboo it's 1 month old. Evolve siad about the reset on the controller. But it one month old never dropped the controller are came off untill this happened. I did not touch the break. I never really used the break. I was riding on a straight road it just through me off twice now. If it does it again I don't want it. Unfortunately

Well I am feeling a bit more flexible today. I'll stuck on the all terrain and go for a blast see what its saying. Riding with other boards what that interrupt my signal

    Twink,

A couple of things. First, this happening twice probably means it will happen again. I've had the GT Carbon for two years now and never had that happen. Plenty of other things with the R1 remote but that's a different story and I like you i now have the R2 remote. Something isn't right get it checked out before something worse happens. While you are healing send it back. Second, the warranty doesn't last that long. With it being one month old maybe two now get it fixed or replaced while you can. Have a great summer.

  13. Agree with this. Sounds like a software issue that they need to fix. Good luck and I hope you're OK.

I have had a GTR with the 7” tires for about a year (I bought it in July 2019) with the 2nd gen remote and the same thing happened to me a couple of months ago while going full throttle up a hill. The remote just cut out. It FELT like I had hit something, but I had not. When you are going uphill and your body is leaned forward in anticipation of the motors continuing to push you, and the power cuts out suddenly, it feels as if your board has hit a wall. My body smacked into the ground. I ended up getting a new remote and I hope that it was a hardware or software problem with the old remote that caused the fall and that it won’t happen again. I’ve only ridden a couple times since getting the new remote. So far so good, but time will tell.

I have had a similar issue half a dozen times in the past month where board/remote have cut-out when under load.
Bamboo GTR with 7" AT setup. Purchased new in January 2020, 1000km+ used daily.
Problem seemingly random, however generally occurs in PRO mode. Board and remote suddenly cut out under load and at speed, remote unresponsive until trigger is let off for a split second then fixes itself and everything goes back to normal. Definitely no brake applied, no user input whatsoever.
Fortunately, I have managed to save it and catch myself each time this has happened, but not by much. I use this board daily and love it, I have put over 1000km on it without an issue. That said, I genuinely consider myself very lucky to NOT have hit the deck at >30kph a few times now and as a result some trust issues are starting to develop.
This issue certainly has the potential to cause injury, particularly for inexperienced users.

EDIT: Just to be clear... brakes do NOT lock up, wheels continue to turn.

Interesting you said it mainly happens in Pro mode. The problem might be the battery sagging to far and cutting out. The gtr battery is not capable of supplying enough continuous power. They used the wrong cells.

Yeah, I am aware of the discussion surrounding the cells however I doubt that is related to this particular issue. The battery level was well above 50% in each instance and only under very light load.
I think the fact that it mainly happens in Pro mode is due to the fact that I typically use that mode and only really switch to GTR for steep hills.

I’m hoping you’ve communicated the info to Evolve so they can take your data and that from others to indicate where to look for a root cause problem.

Same thing. 2nd ride of year in PRO mode and half a dozen cut outs over 2 hours mostly with my hand behind my back. Last one sent me flying, scraped my knee up proper good. Mostly under load, but the drop out may be benign at first, subconciously squeeze the trigger a little more for a response, then reconnects and detects the demand from the trigger position = violent jolt... not nice. My assumption is Bluetooth range/ environmental interference.
