Picked up the board today. Looks great, trying to get use to the remote. Really odd / weird feeling and not my favorite preference with the trigger / pilot mechanism. But we'll see over time. My MetroBoard infared remote was the same way when I transitioned from my 1st gen bluetooth metro board remote.

I put it in GT, and started riding. Its really twitchy off the start, I'll have to compare fast to see if that smooths things out. Again, another thing to get use to over time but I'm sure that will come natural. The regen is amazingly strong too, something that I always wont on an electric skateboard, motorcycle or car.

The bluetooth remote cut out twice due to interference on my ride, something I really hated on my 1st gen Metroboard and now this. Bluetooth is the worse wireless protocol to use since so many people and devices use that frequency, so it gets quite polluted. I do prefer my IR remote on the MetroBoard for you don't get cutouts from frequency pollution. Now MB offer a new RF wireless remote which is better than the BT and IR. The IR is affected a with bright sunlight so you have to point it at the board where the IR pickup more directly in those conditions. Something you do adjust and get use to. You also can't have the remote behind you since it works via line of sight which takes some freedoms away. The RF seems like the best choice and transmits on a different frequency than the bluetooth, so that channel will be wider and less polluted signal-wise.

Board had 61% charge when I unpacked it. I charged it up to 81% and went out the door. Max top speed I could reach on the flats in GT mode was 19mph via the remote which I believe should top out at 23mph as advertised with the 80mm setup. Tonight I'll fully charge and allow the battery to sit overnight to balance and will report back.

The other thing is that it appears the motor covers rattle quite a bit when running on rougher tarmac. I'll have to see if I can quiet them down since it gets rather annoying fast.

Love how wide the trucks are on the board and the carving properties and feedback the board gives. When I got on the bus today to head into work the bus driver immediately dropped his jaw in saying how nice the board was. The board has light feeling and quite comfortable when carrying it.

    Its a true beauty.

I'll soon drop the 97mm wheels on it and those will be my preference I'm sure. However the 80mm gives that lowered and sleek stealth look to the board which the 97mm's don't.

Trigger does take some getting used to, it becomes second nature once you get a feel for it though.

The other thing, I can't get the remote to 'stick' the settings. I put it into GT mode from SLOW, road the board, and when I powered down and up the board the remove comes back in SLOW mode. Also its not saving my distance. I just rode about 4-6 miles and the distance meter reads 0 after I powered on the remote.

Granted I'm on the bus right now, so I'll see if I power on the board with the remote that it will magically fix all this. But that would be odd, I'd think the remote itself should be saving off these preferences.

Did you get the new remote with it or the old one?

    New remote.

Question for the new Carbon GT and old Carbon GT owners. Does your board have and carbon fiber blemishes? Mine does and appears to have one with the CF cloth before the resin was put on there. Included a pic. Its the darker shadow areas on the upper right side. See how clean the CF weave / lines are on the left side.... Kinda sucks since its right on the bottom front of the board :( Is this common with other people's boards or is this a one off that I got some bad luck and had a bum deck? I can also see some imperfections with the resin coat, couple little uneven and wavy spots, those don't bother me as much but the odd weave blemish does. Hopefully you can see it, its the upper right corner. Harder to see it in pics vs real time. I guess its only cosmetic but it does bum you out.

The board still gets lots of compliments. As for the noisy vibrating motor covers on the rough tarmac, I grabbed the covers with my hand and they're secure. I'll have to pull one off and see what's rattling. Possibly the belt is slapping the cover? I'll have to run it without the covers and start figuring out when the noise goes away.

So one interesting note, I pulled the motor pulley cover off and the small drive gear is made of plastic. Were they ever made of aluminum. Can anyone vouch if these have always been plastic?

...I think I know where the rattle is coming from the motor/pulley covers. They're only being tightened down on one end by two allen screws, the opposite side has no way to secure it down well. My guess is that the vibration is causing the unsecured end of the cover to connect and tap with the motor mount. Will try to put some electrical tape there as a shim and see if it goes away then find a long term solution.

Why not just reach out to Evolve about this since this should have been caught during QC inspection of the board.

Will do, just want to see if this is common or just a one off for the CF blemish. Also will keep track of why the remote is not keeping mileage as well as the speed mode. Will use it this weekend to make sure its not user error. If not then I'll report back to Evolve and see what they say.

one quick question, why my board keep switching from fast mode to eco

If you have the new remote, then it switches to Eco when the battery is low

The mileage is reset if you switch of the board. New remote always starts in Eco mode not the last speed setting you was on. If the battery is completely drained on board then the remote seems to reset everthing inc mph/kmph preference,

Fully charged the board and balanced the pack overnight, now I'm getting high 21mph that toggles once in a while to 22mph on flats on the 83mm wheels. Will keep balancing and see if I can hit their 23mph rating.

FYI: Evolve did a very nice thing for us, they allowed us to see the raw mV of each cell in the pack. With that information you can see how balanced or unbalanced your battery is. Also it shows what cell is the weakest over time. You'll have to understand how to interpret this data that's in mV but once you do understand that its valuable. How to get to that battery screen comes in at about 1:15 in the video below:

What seems like they didn't document or possibly they added with the new remote firmware is a screen to read the left and right amp draw as well as the RPM. Found it by mistake playing around, quite nice to have. You do this from the same screen as above for the battery information. Trying to figure out how I got in there in a reproducible way. Can get in there if I mess around with the left / right button random combination.
