they duck and doge any type of support, everything is the users fault. Ugh... I’m just so frustrated with them.. got my GTX on the 21st, reported issues on the 24th through the entire weekend. But no matter what I send them, videos, pictures showing them proof I’m still at fault.

street wheels tore up first ride
AT wheels wobbly causing friction but they want me to ride around withou belt covers but I like th belt covers
Remote cut out (only thing they replaced without going back and forth)
    Motor plate broke in half

Ugh! I road the darn thing 3 times... 3 darn times and I’m over 3k spending with them. Got extra part to be on the safe side, sent th m invoice of all my purchased yet in still I get no darn support from them...

    HEATED!

Sorry to hear that man. My experience with Evolve USA support was the complete opposite. I have two boards - one has worked perfectly from day one, the other had some gremlins. Support was helpful the entire time and worked with me to fix the issue quickly.

Did you buy directly from Evolve? Or from a local retailer?

How are the AT wheels wobbly? I'm assuming this isn't from them not being secured tight enough? I noticed that on one set of my AT wheels one of the tires was rubbing the belt cover, this hadn't happened with two other sets of tires. I just added an extra spacer on that wheel and if fixed the problem.

I really wish I had your experience, it’s been a really frustrating situation. Partly because I haven’t really had an opportunity to use the board much and i want to so badly. I made sure the wheel wasn’t loose but it was causing friction. While riding I nearly fell off because the friction made my board slow up much more than i anticipated causing my belt to come up and rip to shreds a little (they suggested i ride without the belt cover) which made me investigate further. This is one of the videos I sent them.

Once that happened I figured I better let them know cause I was nearly fell but I wear lots of protection so wasn’t worried about getting hurt. They are responsive but every time they’ve come back to me about the issues I reported it was “it’s your fault”. Just frustrating that’s all. Also, chunks came off my 107mm wheels from them from my very first time using them. Road bike path, side walk.. ran into a little gravel along the route but nothing major.

Man that pic is gnarly. Sorry for your experience. I hope you don’t mind the question - do you have any spacers between the gear and your inside wheel bearing? Sometimes you need additional spacers to manage that gap, (and hopefully reduce the chance of the belt rubbing against the wheel.)

So whats happening in that video...the tires are rubbing against the belt covers? If yes, then do what I did and add an extra spacer between the wheel and the drive pulley.

Honestly the AT tires have so much rolling resistance that it almost feels like you've hit the brakes a little bit when you come off the accelerator, in comparison to the street wheels which just roll.

The belt coming off sounds like you didn't have them tensioned properly. Friction on the wheels won't cause the belt to come off, and if tensioned correctly braking as hard as humanly possible won't cause that either.

Did you buy the board in AT and were using it at the tension that Evolve set at the factory? Or did you switch from street to AT?

KCFs post makes me think the 107s in the pic may have been damaged by belt covers too.

I got my board from EvolveUSA. They suggested I use additional spacers to fix the issue but I didn’t have any at the time so I shipped my AT wheels back to them hoping to replace them but they won’t and I was charged 50 bucks for new belts. I watched several videos to learn how to get the tension just right for the belts, making sure both wheels stopped nearly at the same time. I noticed a line on the motor plate but it ended up being cracked all the way through, I’m not hard on my board at all.. this my first electric board and it’s almost 2k so not even trying to push its limits.

So Evolve told you the exact same thing that two of us said - but your expectation was that they would just replace the wheels? That seems unreasonable on your end. You can get spacers from any hardware store for like 10 cents each.

Belt tension is about more than the motors stopping at the same time. It has to be tight enough that it won't slip, but lose enough that it won't cause too much drag. The first time I put my Board Bumpers AT gears on, I had the belts way to loose and one slipped off and got messed up. That was my mistake, and I bought a belt to replace it. That wasn't Board Bumpers fault. It took me a few tries to really learn what the proper tension felt/looked like. I'm sure most of us have seen the same videos about adjusting tension as you have, but do you really know what 5mm of deflection feels like? I sure didn't at first.

It really sounds like you either 1) had the belts too loose or 2) missed the spacers between the wheels and drive gears, or needed to add extra spacers and didn't. If it was rubbing, you shouldn't have ridden the board....fix the problem first.

You mentioned this is your first esk8 - the reality is there is a learning curve. From riding to maintenance you will probably make mistakes. You gotta own that.

The motor plate shouldn't break easily and that looks like a real fault - and is definitely something that should be on Evolve to make right.

I agree with you and I was
prepared to tackle issues and work with them after reading some of the issues other people faced. I’m very nice and approachable, I’m in agreement to work through the issues with the service center, I just wish they would help me, instead of saying this is all my fault. I think it’s their approach that’s wrong with it comes to customer service. I’m not looking for a handout at all. Doesn’t feel like much service when I know I’ve only ridden by board 3 times, it’s been out of commission since The 1st week I had it. I’ve spent a little over 1k getting extra supplies and accessories but that hasn’t helped me.

In my experience (2 GT's daily use for 2 years), the boards require pretty vigilant maintenance. Its very common (for me) for the wheels and/or belts to end up just outside tolerance and not spin freely. Specifically they can become unbalanced causing wobbliness, and for whatever reason the spacing gets knocked out of tolerance and can require adjustment to the number of spacer washers. Also I have experienced where the wheel bearings become loosely seated in the hub (requiring a little tape or something to ensure a tighter fit), or where the space between the two wheel bearings is not right for the spacer washer (requiring maybe different space, or bearings). I have had bearings explode because of spacer issues. I have become pretty adept at setting up the motors and wheels because of all the issues I've encountered.

My point being, if you have the expectation the board is just going to work without some wrenching, you will be disappointed. And if that is really important to you get a Boosted. Otherwise buy a couple sets of bearings, spacer washer, extra belts, a small torque wrench (for the bolts holding the hub together), etc. from amazon, and get used to taking it all apart and putting it back together (I've probably done that 200 times) in the last 2 years, but now I can rebuild the whole thing in no time.

I love my boards, but this is a fact of life with GT's.

I’ve come to this realization that I’m going to have to get my hands dirty lol... I’ve stocked up on a few items as standby parts when parts start to wear out. I should be good for next year or so. Thanks

Shipped my board off a week ago to be fixed after it stopped working, I emailed EvolveUSA service department a few times but no response, is this normal?
