A lot of folks recommend 187 Killer Pads. They're really popular among Roller Derby skaters. The knee pads certainly look less bulky than traditional knee pads for skateboarders. That's probably why they're also popular among e-skaters - less bulk, so you can wear them under a pair of pants. I worried about them fitting well, so instead I opted for a set from ProTec. Yes, they're bulky, but they do the job well.

I have a set of Bern elbow pads I bought on clearance from the REI Garage, about $14. They're fine. Run a little big. I did buy 187 wrist guards, but I bought the wrong size. They were much too small, so I returned them. Then I remembered how much I hate wrist guards. I bit the bullet and bought a set of the Flatland3D/Knox e-skate gloves. They should arrive Thursday.

Lastly, I have a Bern Watts helmet with an Asteroid light. Someday I might get a full face helmet, or a motorcycle helmet, like the Biltwell Gringo.

Somewhat expensive but If you want the protection and not the bulk check out g form. I use their compression shirt, shorts extended elbow and knee/shin guards. Even more important is a good helmet. TSG pass full face helmet. You get one clear and one tinted mirrored visor. I’m almost 40 so if your under 20yrs all you need is a helmet. j/k
