So I just got my remote back after sending in with the new firmware thats being sent out with the GTX boards.
I wanted to make all aware that the new firmware doesn't allow for any changes while in motion. So no switching from Fast down to ECO when you encounter a crowd or anything that you might want or need to slow down for.

I reached out to Evolve and they confirmed that it was working as intended.

I was under the impression from what I had read online (here perhaps) that the new SAFE mode only activated when there was a loss of signal.

So if you were thinking of sending it in, I just wanted to share so folks know what to expect.

I think I read that it can still switches in motion, just not during acceleration or heavy deceleration. Do you could take finger off trigger, switch, them continue. I had a pretty bad accident, possibly associated with an issue that dafe mode now fixes. Just waiting for my new board to arrive... and my full face helmet (highly recommended).

Nah dude. If I'm in motion there is no gear shifting. I never gear shift while accelerating, that would be dangerous. I'm starting to get used to it though.

Good to know, here is thread title I got that info from. They seem to be able to switch in motion somehow: Poll: June 2017 Remote Firmware update

Not sure what's up with your's Fizzgig, but I've had the new firmware for over a month and it operates the same as previous in terms of changing modes. Changing modes while on the go is the same.

Yeah not sure either. When I asked evolve they told me that it's working as intended.

This is what they said" This is the correct feature of SAFE MODE. That is the way the software operates as it isn't safe to switch speed modes in motion (at least not for some people, which is the reason for the switch) .Unfortunately, it is not adjustable."

I wrote them again last night.

You could have a dodgy potentiometer as well mate. The new firmware won't let you change while the trigger, which is mounted to the potentiometer is not in neutral so if it's a bit dicky ie not picking up dead center, it might be giving you grief. If you still can't get through to them, take a vid of you trying to change modes even while moving slowly and I'll do one showing that I can.

Yeah I'm thinking that too. I wrote them yesterday to tell them how when I stop it keeps creeping forward until I flick the brake a second time.
Been reading other folks having the potentiometer issues too.

Ahh, that's the issue then man. In saying that, I had my buddy's BBGT firmware updated yesterday and his brakes came on when I pushed the board backwards. I turned both off and on again and it was fine. If your potentiomenter is playing up (they are real sensitive too) it won't be in dead neutral when you power on and can give you issues. Try giving it a few "flicks" each way before you turn on and see if that helps maybe..

Yeah, confirmed, my new board came in today and it's changing modes in motion just fine (same as the one I bought before the update). Best of luck getting yours back on track.
