Evolve Bamboo GTX Electric Skateboard Announced

I don't really think the changes that they have made warrant a new board. Seems like a cheeky way to take ideas that have been done by individual builders and modders and make a quick buck. (I have seen that grip tape and those gold motors somewhere.... Oh yeah on evolve forums! ) But maybe I'm just pissed that I bought my evolve this year and might have opted for the gtx.
The firmware update seems legit and is long overdo so at least they listened to us on that.

Thanks for the feedback Alex. I think I should use a speed courier to and from.
Can I send it to any dealer for the upgrade? Will they be OK with that?
Think the UK might be quicker for me.

I'm not sure to be honest. Probably best to send an email to your nearest distributor and ask.

I wonder if it will be a free upgrade or if there will be a fee involved.

I assume the new battery is compatible with the original GT - as they will have kept the motor controller the same, with the same remote.

The only question is if the battery compartment is larger - again i assume so, and can we order both a compartment and battery and upgrade the battery in an original that way.

    Should be possible in theory

Battery compartment on the carbon is not expandable tho.

Does anyone know if the new firmware will support the 107mm wheels?

Che on facebook found this info out - seems like there may be an official one coming soon, so hopefully the updated firmware will account for that.

I wonder what happens when riding fast and the remote goes in to safety mode. Has it been explained what it does in that situation, since i don't want to get launched off thte board when that happens?

I am pretty sure it just won't let you change modes during the safety.

it appears the 'safe' mode only allows the board to go very slow, 5km/h when it kicks in, I wonder how this works in real life when you are travelling fast and it kicks into safe mode? does it just drop you to 5km/h, and does it also allow you to use the brakes? I wonder if it could have been a good idea to upgrade the nordic RF chips that they use for connection, these cost about .50c each, and for such a vital part of the system if they upgraded them, it could make the actual drop outs go away for good. You can check out some of the actual remote firmware in safe mode in this vlog:

is it just me, or does anyone else notice that they still market this as 3000w motors, rather than 2x1500w motors, perhaps their marketing team are getting mixed up with plural and singular.

Agreed, it would be great if we could stop guessing as to how safe mode works.
a better option would have been a completely new remote paired with better rf chips. And to just be sure, still implement the safe mode.

About the gold motors: it's not my taste...a bit too much for me personally.
Would have been great if there was a option for chrome/annodised motors.

100% agree. Screams ghetto. Or as some might say, gaudy. They should have made this optional, not everyone wants to look like they grew up in Compton. Maybe in AU fake gold doesnt scream cheese.

Evolve Compton GT doesn't sound that bad...they could even cross sell LED packages and click on wheel spinners :scream:
