Stutter on board.

So I got my board two weeks ago, just about everything is working great except every once and a while I will get a "stutter" as i'm accelerating which makes me almost lose my balance on the board. And my remote loses connection all the time where the percent will read "---" although it will still allow me to control the brakes and acceleration, this seems to happen a lot for me.

I contacted Evolve and within one day they gave me a label to send the board in and get it working like it should and before it possibly gets worse and I get seriously hurt.

I'm pretty dang happy with how fast support worked. Hopefully they can get it fixed for me and I don't have to send it in more than once. It's a pain to have to send it in at all because I'm having so much fun with the board and don't currently have a backup board to ride.. Ugh!!!

This is a pretty common thing that happens on almost every board. It happens to me a lot(not the stutter, but the percentage thing, although ive had the stutter a few times). You probably hold the remote on your forward most hand, am i correct?(aka hand closest to the front of the board).

I ride Regular and I hold it in my right hand, so closer to the back of the board which is where the transmitter is supposed to be, right? Good to know it's pretty much a regular thing. I just changed out my wheels back to AT to send it in and noticed there was a small nick in one of my Street belts. Idk if that was what was causing the "stutter" but I might just ride it with the AT a little bit to find out before I actually send it in... I really don't want to go weeks without it haha. I'm having too much fun...

That little nick is definitely not causing your problem, you will get many more of those as you ride more. I frequently get rocks stuck in both pulleys(drive, and wheel). Hmm, I usually only seem to get the stutter when I'm holding the remote far away from the back of the board, or if i put it in my pocket while riding or something. You got your board pretty recently if i remember from reddit, so you should have the version two remote as well..

Yeah the stutter is definitely a frequent thing for me... It's something that shouldn't happen, I'm just worried that it will either get worse and/or cause me to crash. Luckily it usually happens when I'm accelerating so I'm going somewhat slow.

Today I went for a ride and it gave me that stutter when I was going top speed (i had the 97mm on) so I was going pretty fast, it was really scary to say the least but I didn't fall off... Definitely an amazing board but small frustrating things that shouldn't happen on a $2,000 board.

It would most likely be the motor controller I would say, I had the same issue, and it was swapped over and fixed very quickly.
Perhaps they need a little longer time with the QC testing.

Just dropped my board off at UPS, I don't have a backup board... Didn't realize how much i'm going to miss riding it...

Wait @Skywaker3r, weren't you the person who 'criticized' my earlier posts!?!?! You *DID* say you had *NO* issues with your board, remember:

Got thrown off the GT, board took off without my command, petition to Evolve to fix remote

Please rethink what you post and how you say it, possibly someone may prevent a serious injury to you or others by voicing their concern and opinion based upon their own personal experience.

Don't judge others unless you're in their shoes to have any relation to their experiences. And even that's wrong, because you can be wrong. Reason being you're not them and may never reproduce what they personally experienced.

    A lessen from life.

And maybe, just maybe of you're vocal enough you *CAN* make a change with the company and have them listen to you and give you the response you want as I did. And it may even have the company rethink and look into the issue deeper which not only benefits you, but benefits the community as a whole.

Just got my board back yesterday.

Apparently they did a hard+soft software reset on it. I've put 30 miles on it since I got it back and no more stuttering! Glad it's working perfectly again, also evolve service worked about as quick as they could have. Was without my board for 12 days.

    i have this stutter also
when accelarating one motor gets no power the board goes to the side
when putting the trigger back to neutral its gone and you can accelerate
happens several times at all conditions
they switched the main board and the error is not gone ...
the old carbon never ever had a problem or was going out by itself

    greets klaus

I also had this, heard from another rider who has this issue. Maybe every board has this. I think it´s a software bug.

If it's only a software bug like mine had it's too bad they can't make the reset process easier without us having to send our boards in. With the GT's being out almost a year now you'd also think they would have worked out more of these little kinks by now... Oh well, as long as evolve takes care of it. I'm loving my board now. Also took off the belt covers on the AT setup and the ride is SO much smoother, never putting them back on again.

Relieved to hear that, I think I got same thing going on. I also have the issue where I needed to add additional small black washers to each rear wheel to prevent wheel rubbing on belt cover. Any chance you had same problem? Also, when you first got your board, did you charge it up 100% abefore taking your first ride, or did you go for a spin right out of box?

I took my board for a spin right out of the box.

When I ride with the AT wheels I take the belt covers off because they rub, they really serve no purpose anyways.

I think I have the same problem as described above.
Instead of showing battery % it sometimes just freezes with --% and speedometer freezes also.
Board is about 2 weeks old with 30-40km on it. I can still control the board, but it looks dangerous when going wast.
Somehow girfriend manged to take a pretty nasty fall also with it, on her second try when it went from ECO to REV while remote was frozen.
