Anyone got any views comments on the new Jed Board?
Seems quite a bit of R&D has gone into the product
Features I like are the remote, no belts, phone app and swapable /removable battery pack.

also .... field upgrade-able firmware (by the end user) - encryption and proper frequency hopping with a Bluetooth remote

Agree -A big step up from Evolve remote connection issues!

    sounds great
what Ah capacity battery did you end up with for the swappable version and what would the range be ?
    Cheers

The dual board has a 232wh swappable pack capable of up to 30km range depending on rider weight. The all wheel drive features 464wh total power capable of around 40km range.

    Thangs for that
another question -during your Beta testing does the battery % jump all over the place like the Evolve does or is it more steady decline.

What have you set the min voltage cut-out to ? Hopefully around 2.9 or 3.0 V to get most of the Ah in a ride.

The voltage sag on acceleration on evolve board suggests that the Li Ion prismatics do not have the peak current capacity for the application - But I bet they were cheap!

If you are using 18650s with a reasonable max current (10A each) -will be much better for sag
    Cheers

Not at all. We use Tesla Panasonic cells that have a fairly stable discharge curve and are very stable even at the highest discharge. We cut off around 3V and only charge to 90% so we never fully top up the pack.

Is the 232wh a measured value from the 90% charge voltage to minimum voltage cut-off or is it the manufacturers spec?
    Cheers

232wh is when the pack is at 90% charge. We make the packs :)

From videos I have seen the concern i have is the noise when under power, obviously it is quiet while free wheeling.

Has this been improved at all?

Jeremy - Any further detail available on how remote works .
I think you said it doesn't have speeds but senses from the riding if you need more speed/torque?
Will you be able to see board performance data on iPhone app ?
    Cheers

We have iOS and android apps that will be available at release. The remote uses an ISM band instead of Bluetooth or 2.4ghz and features complete end to end AES encryption.

Sorry didn't fully answer your questions. In regards to the remote. The acceleration curve is staged up so it's smooth as silk from a stand still and can get you to top speed very quickly.

Traction control constantly monitors each wheel to ensure the board is safe at all times.

Braking on the other is harder the slower you're going. So when you are going top speed and throw on the brakes the board will never throw you off, instead it will rapidly ramp up the braking force to bring you to a quick and safe stop.

Some future firmware will allow you to adjust the curves to your liking via our iOS or Android apps.

    Hi Jeremy
Another question - can you see battery voltage and individual cell voltages and remote battery voltage on IPhone App?
    Cheers

The remote will show the battery power of the remote itself and the board in terms of range. So you'll see estimated range and battery percentage.

In terms of individual cells in the app, it's not something we will show at the moment but we will display critical battery information such as total voltage and charge cycles on the pack, manufacturing date etc.

    Every pack is swappable.
